Bindrunes are interesting. Runes are powerful sigils in their own right, and combining them together creates a synthesis or blending of each energy into a greater focus. I used Fehu, Uruz, Jera, Wunjo, and Ingwaz from the Elder Futhark to create a bindrune from a flowering plum branch I found to hang in the various garden areas I have. I also used a Harvest rune from a set of Witch Runes to inscribe on the back. The goal, of course, is increased abundance in the garden.

Garden runes

Ingwaz begins the bindrune as the seed. Representing our genetic inheritance, Ingwaz creates fertile opportunity, expanding inner Earth IngwazElemental energies, promising a successful outcome in the garden. Its feminine expression resembles a DNA sequence written as an X on top of an X. In this expression, I chose the masculine version, a diamond shape, to frame the bindrune, preventing energy from draining away.

With it’s downward movement into manifestation, I next drew Uruz. As the rune of changes, Uruz is used to draw something positive into our lives, and uses strength from both Earth and Water Elemental energies to initiate growth.Uruz

Jera speeds growth as the rune of transformation and balance. An Earth Element rune, it invokes fertility and represents the cyclical nature of growth. Jera promotes positive change and prosperity. A wonderful rune for the garden. Jera

Fehu, drawn in the middle, as a sending rune, expands growth energy outward, circulating its abundant life force as it increases the effect of the surrounding runes. This Earth Element rune is perfect for the garden, providing both protection and stimulating growth.Fehu

Lastly, I drew Wunjo, another Earth Element rune, to create harmony between the other runes. As the Wish Rune, Wunjo governs the creation of bindrunes, bringing all energies into alignment as the final significator for fulfillment and success.Wunjo

And here’s the final result. Ingwaz, then Uruz, then Jera, then Fehu, and lastly, Wunjo. On the backside is the really cool Harvest Witch rune, which I love. A small hole will be drilled in each and hemp cord used to hang them in the garden areas. As the picture at the top shows, I consecrated them during last night’s New Moon. Good thing I bought a larger freezer, because it’s going to be an awesome year!
