A Collective Deception
I studied psychology in college, earning my BA in 1978. And although I don’t claim to understand everything about the current occupant of the White House, I think it’s plain to see that something is wrong with him.
His lies defy all understanding. It’s not that lying isn’t a common problem in life, but to lie as much as he does assumes that a particular pathology exists, and that others know about it.
Some people have wondered if this extreme level of deception suggests dementia of some kind, and if true, then surely his wife and children at minimum know the truth. Then there are the White House doctors who have likely witnessed behavior that is troubling, especially given that most of the country has seen it as well.
The slurring of words, the strange gait, the forward lean that seems wooden suggesting a brace of some kind, the alleged raging at staff, the need for simple documents to look at with an emphasis on pictures, the refusal to listen to advisors, needing notes to remind him to express compassion to others when the school shooting survivors met with him at the White House…all of this suggests something isn’t right.
His behavior suggests someone who isn’t quite there. And the country needs to know why. Now.
The collective deception has gone on for too long and now that he’s ordering assassinations, someone needs to tell the truth about his health. If I’m correct, and his family is aware of his condition then this is nothing short of elder-abuse to allow this to continue one moment longer.
However, if it’s not a health condition, then this man is as vile as they come and the psychiatric community will likely need a separate DSM to describe his various issues. But if not, and his extreme behavior is the result of dementia or something else physical, then it’s only going to get worse and in my opinion, he’s unfit for office.
I’ve read concerns that his strange comments on social media could be a ploy to suggest diminished capacity so that the Senate trial won’t happen. But the problem with that is obvious. If he’s incompetent to stand trial, then he’s incompetent to remain in office.
But no matter the basis for his behavior, someone who lies as much as he does cannot be trusted to preserve our national security and for that reason alone he should be removed from office. Whether that happens by Senate conviction or by the voters in November, it must happen. The golf trips alone have cost taxpayers a fortune and the country cannot afford to pay for his lavish lifestyle nor should it be expected that we will.

He’s doing everything he can to avoid his future. And unfortunately, he’s had enough help from others to accomplish whatever his true purpose has been.
However, this week, the Senate process begins, and the country will have the opportunity in the near future to see first hand whether justice will be served, or if it will be more of the same nonsense we’ve been witnessing for the last three years.
If that’s what happens, the collective deception will be complete.
Blessings to all…the end is in sight…
