Sunday Earth Magic – 1/25/2015

 

 

The stillness of the Lake begins this Sunday’s Earth Magic Oracle Card casting. In stillness we find our Source, allowing that flow of energy to quiet our thoughts, returning us to alignment with our Higher Self. Embracing our stillness within helps us to achieve balance, rendering the effect of chaos surrounding us mute.

Dreamtime represents our collective awareness, our Akash, standing outside of time. It signifies our breath as we continually breathe into our creative focus, our physical form. We are a force of and for creation and our breath is our connection between non-physical and physical realms. As we embrace the stillness within suggested by the Lake card, we breathe our life force into everything we think, say and do. Remaining focused upon our breath, we intentionally align with our Higher Self, allowing that energy to manifest undeterred by the chaos around us.

The casting ends with the Dragonfly, suggesting an emergence of sorts. Intense and dramatic change may occur as a result of stilling one’s thoughts and aligning with Source. We let wisdom gained be our guide, emerging into a new awareness, driven by our Higher Self instead of by ego. We’ve figured out what matters. We surrender to the flow, to our inner stillness, and joy follows.

The progression of this casting is interesting. In one sense, it may be referring to the positive effects of meditation. But in another, it seems to reflect the Triple Goddess as Maiden, Mother and Crone. The Lake suggests where we begin in our interactions with others, from a point of stillness, letting our Higher Self drive our impressions and reactions instead of egoic judgment. Dreamtime would then represent the Goddess as Mother, as we create from our point of origin as extensions of Source, breathing creative life into every encounter, into everything we do. The Dragonfly emerges, as does the Crone, reflecting wisdom gained over a lifetime. The Crone is the Wise Woman who understands the creative power she possesses, and is a force to be reckoned with as she views the landscape unfolding before her with grace and balance.

Each of us reflects aspects of the Goddess as we go about our daily lives. In stillness, we achieve a clarity that becomes muddled when reacting with ego. So it would seem that difficulties we experience have more to do with our egos running amok than anything that’s real. Allowing, practicing non-resistance, lets the nonsense pass by, noticed perhaps, but left to itself. Too much is viewed as too important when it’s nothing of the sort. We give everything we see the meaning it has. It doesn’t mean that everything we see has no value. It only means that we need to be a little more discerning. Stillness allows us that discernment.
