Runecast: March Influences/Potentials or Something More?

 

Elemental energies make up the world around us and contribute to our manifestation into physical form. Their influence is felt in how grounded we are, how we express ourselves creatively, how we express our intelligence and intuition, and how loving we are. In this runecast, I surrounded a triple landscape spread with an elemental spread to look at their influence on the landscape of the coming month.

Something interesting stood out as I began to look at the runes making up the Elemental ring around the main spread. In the North, East, South, and West positions respectively, I drew Laguz, Jera, Berkano, and Hagalaz, two Water runes and two Earth runes. A pattern of energy emerged.

Air moves energy, Fire expands energy, Water contracts energy, and Earth gathers the energy into physical form. In the East quadrant of Elemental Air, Jera, brings it’s own Earth energy into play as the garden rune as it moves and transforms energy of creation. Berkano continues blending that same Earth energy in the South quadrant, invoking Elemental Fire to bring fertility and expansion. Hagalaz, a Water rune in its own right, transforms and contracts both Air and Fire with Elemental Water energies, as Laguz, another Water rune in the North quadrant, gathers together those energies, blending them into their Earthly form.

After looking at the Elemental aspect of the combined spread, it seemed to suggest the whole process of As Above, So Below. It’s not just a catchy phrase; it actually describes the true nature of things. Three points come into play: above, below, and the focal point in between (us). Everything begins in energy and then blends into something physical. So I began looking at the triple landscape spread from that standpoint. The first line would represent As Above (non-physical), the third, So Below (physical), with the second line as the Focal Point, or us.

Wunjo, Tiwaz and Ehwaz comprise the As Above line bringing in such notions as harmony, empathy and peace from Wunjo into the flow. Justice, order, might for right, and victory follow with Tiwaz. Ehwaz bundles all of that loving energy into our quantum field, our etheric self or Merkaba.

The energies of So Below are represented by Thurisaz, Dagaz, and Uruz. Catalytic energy is represented by Thurisaz, providing defense and protection for the new creation. Dagaz continues that creative force with energies of awakening. Uruz, the most fascinating rune in the spread, actually depicts manifestation into physical form with the downward motion of its shape. It’s the force of will, of energy shaping matter.

The Focal Point, represented by the second landscape expression, begins with the still point of Isa, our coalescence into form, as it were. We are now in the static realm. Algiz protects us from harm, and serves as our higher consciousness, while Mannaz blends intuition with our rational mind, and represents our intelligence. It serves as our anchor, our structure, our very experience as humans.

Wow..I went into this to see what influences and potentials March would bring, but sometimes the runes have another agenda. Although this could depict who we are and how we get here, it could also suggest that the next month may bring all kinds of new experiences into our lives. Staying centered, aligned, loving, and positive as we meet these new situations protects and supports successful outcomes. Sounds similar to the process of incarnation. Maybe that’s the key to whatever the next, or any other month brings..proceed with the same awareness, the same energy, the same alignment with Source, that we had when we decided to come here. After all, it’s not like it ever leaves us.

Must have been the flourite runes I used. Flourite harmonizes and grounds spiritual energy, providing another layer of synchronicity to the spread. This is why I love runes. They give us such interesting ideas to consider.
