A Sigil to Invoke Alignment and Balance
When we work magick, we first need a purpose. Today’s Grand Cross between the Sun, Moon, Neptune, and the South Node indicates a situation where alignment in Spirit may be required so that the most beneficial decision can be made.
All four planetary bodies are either in square with their neighbors or in opposition with the planet opposite to them in the chart and their breakdown follows:
- Moon opposition S Node 1°45′ A
- Moon square Sun 4°31′ S
- Moon square Neptune 3°28′ S
- Sun square S Node 6°17′ A
- Sun opposition Neptune 1°03′ A
- Neptune square S Node 5°13′ A
Essentially what we’re looking at with this particular Grand Cross is that an opportunity has developed, but we’re feeling somewhat tense and out of balance emotionally and unable to focus enough to make a decision. Perhaps we’re being too idealistic and that’s interfering, or we may need insight from someone else to help organize or put our thoughts into perspective.
Either way, we need to trust our inner voice but with feeling out of balance, that may prove difficult.
I’m going to use the Younger Futhark today in creating a bindrune to use for alignment. I typically use the Elder Futhark, but today I wanted to use the new set of runes I just crafted. But instead of allowing the runes to decide the magickal effect, for this working, I chose them myself.
From left to right the runes and their basic meanings are below:
- Lögr – similar to Laguz in the Elder Futhark, Lögr describes the soul’s path, intuition, and growth from challenges
- Fé – like Fehu, Fé draws in abundance in the same manner
- Íss – as with Isa, Íss involves ego contraction and alignment in Source Presence, rebalances emotions
- Madhr – similar to Mannaz as the rune of mankind, balancing the shadow-side of self with Spirit
- Sól – like Sowilo, Sól is the vital force and the light of Spirit breaking though barriers and providing spiritual guidance
- Ár – as with Jera, Ár understands the cyclical nature of our experience and invokes higher awareness similar to Ansuz
The reason for using these particular runes from the Younger Futhark is to blend together energies of balance, growth, and the invocation of Spirit into the working to foster harmony within so that a decision can be then confidently made.
Here is final sigil (bindrune):
The sigil/bindrune can be crafted within a circle or sacred space if one prefers or within any setting that feels comfortable and can be burned or carved onto a small disk of wood or can be written or drawn on anything that helps the individual align and rebalance. It also can be worn as a talisman or otherwise carried on one’s person to accomplish the same.
