Rosewater may be sprinkled over the altar or workspace to prepare the area and then float fresh rose petals in a small bowl of water placed in the center of the workspace. As you drop the petals in the water, perform your chant, invoking Aphrodite to enhance and protect your working. Sprinkle some dried catnip or powdered orris root in the water as well to draw someone toward you. Place rose quartz on the altar or a piece of lapis lazuli and burn sandalwood in incense form or on a piece of ritual charcoal in a small cauldron. If using candles in your working, rose or pink candles are lovely and if using three candles, you can carve the runes from today’s rune divination (Wunjo, Inguz, and Ehwaz) in each one to invoke joy into the working.
