Blessed Be the Hierophant Within

 

Sometimes I pull such cool cards that I can’t believe it. Beginning with The Tower, Death and the 6 of Disks, change for the better is in order. The 9 of Cups and the 2 of Swords bring peace and happiness. The Hierophant is the significator.

I love The Hierophant card. It represents Divine Wisdom, the Holy Guardian Angel, and the mastery of knowledge, tradition and structure. He is both the enlightened teacher and the student, blending together the nonphysical and physical aspects of self.

Our physical presence is only a minute portion of who we are. The families of those blessed souls in the Mother Emanuel Bible study group, by their forgiveness of the confused, hate-filled young man who prayed with them, then shot and killed them, are one such example of who we truly are. President Obama suggested that this young man didn’t realize he would be used this way, as a focus of forgiveness and grace. I would suggest that his nonphysical side did know, and willingly became that focus for our enlightenment and growth. We all play a role here, some positive and some negative. But the families looked beyond what they saw before them and by the grace of All That Is, forgave him for what he did. Hearing them, one by one, forgive this man, as he stood emotionless..enlightened teachers, all.

The President also spoke about open hearts. Life throws us curveballs all the time, and the challenge we face is to keep our hearts open, with love flowing forth. The 9 of Cups, representing Happiness in the Thoth deck, shows us that in truth, our cup runneth over with the love of Source within each one of us. The 2 of Swords depicts Peace, balancing our intellectual and emotional presence. We know the right thing to do, the right thing to think. We know that choosing peace and harmony over racism and hate brings us to a far better place together in the long run.

Change is not only possible, it’s necessary. That’s the message the Tower and Death bring, its success guaranteed by the 6 of Disks. Change based upon our awareness that we need do nothing as A Course in Miracles counsels except realize that we are not the bodies we experience, but in fact the holy extension of Source Energy, one with each other. We need do nothing but know that. We begin there, and the rest will follow. The families know that because they live it every day. They understand the magnitude of forgiveness, the blessing it gives. That’s why they forgive as they do.
