Wednesday is governed by Mercury. Below are its corresponding energies as well as the current transit chart for the witch’s perusal. ~  et incipit magia


Magickal focus ~ Mercury governs, communication, interactions, balance, justice, revelation

Time

  • Dawn – healing, new beginnings, study, purification
  • Noon – strength, opportunity, success, protection, wealth
  • Sunset – letting go, release
  • Night – spirituality, aligning with Spirit, healing, dreamwork, visions

Favorable/Unfavorable for Magick ~ very good – with both Elemental Fire and Water strong today, work some herb magick to improve communication with a focus on balancing both emotions and the expression of will generally, or regarding a specific person. This is best performed outside. You’ll need the following: a small table to serve as an altar (be creative, a stump works just as well), a small bowl containing water, glass or copper is best, but anything you have will work; dried bergamot leaves, caraway seeds, and dried horehound leaves; a piece of untreated citrine (or regular citrine if that’s all you have); and, some benzoin resin, a small cauldron, and ritual charcoal.

With a staff or a stick, draw out a circle on the ground in which you’ll be working. Or, conversely, you can draw an energetic circle either using a wand, an athame, or your finger. Identify the elemental quarters in whatever fashion you prefer. Burn benzoin on a piece of ritual charcoal in the small cauldron to balance mental acuity with the expression of will and include a piece of untreated citrine on the altar to improve or enhance communication. Add some water to the bowl and then hold your hands over the bowl to bless and consecrate the water for your stated intention. From there, add a pinch of dried bergamot leaves to the water to balance self-expression with balanced emotions, a few caraway seeds to foster balanced interactions and eloquence, and a pinch of horehound to neutralize negativity. From there, stir the mixture in a clockwise (deosil) direction while focusing your intention. Use a chant if you like, I keep mine as simple as possible using short, command-like phrases.

Ground the working into the Earth by pouring equal amounts of the mixture in each of the four elemental directions at the edge of the circle. Now you’ve made use of all four elements, Water and Fire, with Air to represent Mercury and interactions you’re wanting to improve, and Earth as a grounding influence. When you’re finished, close the working by thanking the elemental energies (and whoever else you’re working with) for assisting you in the working, and visualize the circle dissolving.

Laguz describes not only that spirit-based energetic flow but our emotional balance as well. Sowilo, as the rune of the Sun, light, and the Higher Self, expresses that light within and infuses our awareness with healing and spiritual awakening. Uruz, the manifesting force behind the manifestation itself, describes the soul’s influence on our perceptions and interactions as it gathers together the other runes in today’s divination to manifest Source Presence into our lives.

So, if it seems like you cannot express yourself without offending others, take some alone time until you feel more balanced. This could simply be revealing an opportunity to address issues or inner wounds that interfere with self-expression. The Ascendant – Leo – a masculine, Fixed sign that suggests that behavior is purposeful, self-disciplined, and reliable. Although typically generous and sincere, Leo individuals can be arrogant and prideful, and need to learn to balance power with compassion.

Black Moon Lilith ~ 11th House/Gemini — You may be given to superficiality in your interactions with others and trust may be impacted. In the 11th House of relationships, interactions may be challenging with Lilith’s darker side impacting expectations of others. A trine witth Saturn R suggests you work within a given structure, while a trine with Pluto R helps you transform your inner strength to heal old wounds that impact your interactions with others (also involving a sextile with Chiron). All in all, a new strategy may be required going forward (sextile Pallas), particularly surrounding partnerships (opposite Juno R).

In other words, too much ideology or too much devotion affects our ability to view our experiences or beliefs in a realistic manner. With the 6th Ray’s medium effect, perception/ideology theoretically may be easier to manage but with the 2nd Ray having less of an impact on wisdom, keeping gullibility in check may be difficult.
