Dagaz represents one phase ending and another beginning and it also is seen visually in Mannaz. Uruz can also be seen in Mannaz and represents the thought process behind perception and manifestation. It’s considered the primal forming essence of Spirit that increases health, endurance, and inner/outer strength.
Without Mannaz in the reading, the interpretation would center on inner strength and awareness, but with Mannaz, it brings in the collective aspect of self into the equation. Mannaz describes the individual within society and visually incorporates not only Dagaz and Uruz but also Gebo (ᚷ, balanced energy exchange), Laguz (ᛚ, flow), Isa (ᛁ, present moment awareness), Kenaz (ᚲ, the light of Spirit in all directions), and Wunjo (ᚹ, joy and fellowship) into how we perceive our shared experiences with others.
The reading suggests that we understand that we’re part of a greater soul awareness, collective in nature and that through Spirit informing our thoughts, we achieve a greater awareness of who we are to each other. In truth, all that we perceive and experience is an expression of the Creator manifesting its own awareness into physical reality. As aspects of that unified experience, any feeling of individuality is an illusion and when we let go of the ego’s focus, we can return to the fundamental unity we share with others.
Energetic Influences
Polarity: The masculine (projective) side of self is having the greatest influence suggesting motivation, creativity, and expressions of will are having the strongest impact today.
Elemental Influence: Fire (will, creativity, motivation) provides the strongest elemental influence today with Air (intellect, reason, justice, interaction) next in strength. Earth (material concerns, physical presence) follows with Water (emotions, compassion, empathy) providing the lesser elemental influence today.
Ray Influences: The effect of the seven cosmic Rays essentially impacts the soul/ego balance at any given moment. As the Rays move through the universe and ultimately reach each individual, they color (or influence) our perceptions and behavior. If we perceive our experiences from a soul perspective, then our overall perspective resonates from a higher vibration; whereas, if we react from the standpoint of ego, our resonance becomes lower and more reactive.
The increased influence of the 1st Ray on the expression of will and power suggests that self-confidence has increased; therefore, you may be more motivated to pursue new experiences. However, the decreasing impact of the 2nd Ray influence of love and wisdom indicates that empathy and understanding are less today, and in conjunction with the strong impact of the 4th Ray energy of harmony through conflict, it suggests that you may be less inclined to collaborate with others and be sensitive to their needs.
The moderate strength of the 3rd Ray of active intelligence indicates that the ability to process information intellectually may be average today, and with the increased influence of the 5th Ray, you may be more inclined to rely on scientific knowledge to inform your perspective. And with the 6th Ray’s strong impact, coupled with the decreased 2nd Ray influence, a devotion or fixation on ideology may have a stronger impact on intellectual expression and a shared acceptance of science-based truth.
