Flowing in Balance ~ A Rune Divination

In today’s three-rune divination, balance and flow are at the heart of the reading.

A rune of Elemental Water, Gebo ᚷ, with its X pattern, involves balanced energy exchange invoked by higher awareness. It’s the link between self and the other side of self, in other words, the self and others. And Gebo also represents the gift of reciprocity between partners. Isa ᛁ and Kenaz ᚲ are both components of Gebo and reinforce the higher self aspect of the rune. Isa aligns us in higher awareness and Kenaz expresses that awareness outward into our daily experiences.

Laguz ᛚ, another Water rune, essentially means flow and, in this reading, the flow is from Spirit. Like Gebo, it represents harmony and balance, but in this case, Laguz involves emotional balance. Laguz can purify and cleanse your mind, body, and Spirit, and can act as a magickal hook to draw energy or attention that you’ve expressed outward back to you. It’s of particular value to empathic individuals when disconnecting their energy from others to rebalance and center their awareness. Laguz invokes intuition and clairsentience and can be useful in dream or trance workings. Again, Isa and Kenaz (skewed) are present in this rune, with Isa acting as a channel to draw awareness down from Spirit (Kenaz).

Finally, Othala ᛟ incorporates Gebo ᚷ in its lower half along with Inguz ᛜ in its upper half suggesting the genesis of balance and integration with others in our earthly life. An Earth element rune, Othala represents the sacred space we create for ourselves and our family. It involves our ancestral heritage, our own Akashic Record, loyalty, and the traditions shared with our tribe. Othala also involves prosperity, possessions, and our peace and security. It’s how we come back together in oneness or unity consciousness with others in our soul group. There’s also a feeling of growth and potential with Othala, based upon the balanced exchange and reciprocity we share with others.

Together, today’s runes suggest the need to flow in harmony with others, to extend that gift of reciprocity, and to invoke peace and security in our relationships with family, friends, and other individuals with whom we engage. In that regard, ego gives way to higher awareness, that quiet space where we are eternally drawn to the fundamental truth that we are one in Spirit.
