Tarot Card of the Week ~ 7 of Cups
Six golden chalices that are presented right side up surround a seventh that is turned upside down. The backdrop of the scene is difficult to determine, with illusion or lack of clarity the possible interpretation. Although the six cards appear in balance with each other, the title of the 7 of Cups from the Haindl Tarot is, in fact, Illusions of Success. Apparently, Haindl’s upside-down chalice indicates that even though we think something is going right, at any time we could learn that it was all an illusion. And traditional depictions of the 7 of Cups would agree, expressing their own version of illusion by having one’s head in the clouds. And with Cups representing the Water element and our emotions, we should avoid seeing only what we wish to see.
Haindl includes hexagrams from the I Ching on each card from the Minor Arcana. In this case, he includes the 4th hexagram of Youthful Folly suggesting success in spite of inexperience. The answer lies in formulating a plan of action from a logical perspective so that you insure a better outcome.
So, for this week, plan carefully and be realistic before taking action to preserve the best results.
