The Ascendant, Rays, Nodes, and Aspects Influencing 16-22 October 2022
Below are the Ray, Ascendant, and Node influences as well as strong planetary aspects over the coming week. Each daily chart is cast for 8:00 AM.
Ray Influences
The effect of the seven cosmic Rays essentially impacts the soul/ego balance at any given moment. As the Rays move through the universe and ultimately reach each individual, they color (or influence) our perceptions and behavior. If we perceive our experiences from a soul perspective, then our overall perspective resonates from a higher vibration; whereas, if we react from the standpoint of ego, our resonance becomes lower and more reactive. The specific Rays, along with their average strength this week, are as follows:
- 1st Ray – will and power; average strength: 5
- 2nd Ray – love and wisdom; average strength: 5
- 3rd Ray – active intelligence; average strength: 2
- 4th Ray – harmony through conflict; average strength: 14
- 5th Ray – concrete science and knowledge; average strength: 5
- 6th Ray – devotion and idealism; average strength: 3
- 7th Ray – ceremonial order and magick; average strength: 2
Strongest Rays
Over the course of the week, the strongest Ray influence is the 4th Ray of harmony through conflict indicating that balance, problem-solving, and cooperation with others will improve. All other rays are having a reduced impact with the 1st (will/power), 2nd (love/wisdom), and 5th (concrete science and knowledge) next in strength and in balance with each other.
It’s possible that the lesser impact of the 1st Ray’s expression of will and power may make cooperation easier without the self-assertion that could spark conflict. And with the 2nd Ray of love and wisdom in balance with the 1st Ray, it may help to maintain a unified focus. And the 5th Ray in balance with the 1st and 2nd suggests that collaboration with others will have the flexibility to investigate additional options or areas of interest.
Weakest Rays
The 6th Ray’s lesser influence suggests a reduced focus on selflessness or expressions of ideology, while the reduced strength of the 3rd Ray of active intelligence suggests that objectivity that serves others may be less. Finally, we may have difficulty organizing our experiences in a meaningful, ordered manner with the reduced strength of the 7th Ray of ceremonial order and magic.
The Ascendant
Libra – A masculine sign that functions on the 3rd Ray of active intelligence, a Libra individual takes initiative to pursue opportunities that come his/her way. Relationships are important and although you are assertive, thoughtful, polite, and well-mannered, you may also be indecisive. You insist on fairness and justice and are concerned with taking care of others. Diplomacy and mediation are also a focus.
Scorpio (10/19) – A feminine sign that functions on the 4th Ray of harmony through conflict, a Scorpio individual is concerned with balanced expression. S/he is perceptive, focused, and independent, and at times possesses a strong will. A Scorpio individual can also be emotionally intense, secretive, and have health issues.
A quincunx between Jupiter in retrograde and The Ascendant (Scorpio)suggests that let go of behaviors that negatively impact your relationships with others.
Node Influences ~ N Node: Taurus; S Node: Scorpio
A transformative combination that describes strong emotions that can lead to expressions of victimhood, and the need for a focus on a spiritual perspective that views the behavior of others as a window into one’s own issues. The challenge involves forgiving the self for judging others. With this placement, you also know what you value or desire, however, how difficult that is to achieve depends upon the balance you strike.
Aspects:
Chiron in retrograde is still inconjunct the South Node counseling you that you’re continuing to reevaluate a situation that you may need to let go of so that you can move forward. The Moon trine the North Node suggests that you can rely on your intuition to define your new path while an inconjunct between Mercury and the North Node indicates a new strategy may be necessary to do so.
Planetary Aspects
The Sun ~ You’re both loving and idealistic, and you enjoy spending time with others, and your self-confidence makes you a natural leader. However, you may feel self-conscious expressing your intuitive or empathic awareness. You may need to rely on those gifts, however, if interactions with others become intense and unpredictable and you need to reestablish new boundaries. Toward the
The Moon ~ At the beginning of the week, your imagination is strong and you’re drawn to metaphysical or spiritual ideas. If you experience stress or if you feel off balance, you may withdraw and focus your attention on those areas, especially the need to assert yourself becomes challenging. As the week progresses, your creativity increases, but your unique self-expression may cause you to be viewed as capricious or unreliable. Toward the end of the week, you may become defensive and perceive others as unsupportive which can leave you feeling at loose ends. Restructuring established boundaries may be helpful.
Mercury ~ You worry that you have no impact on others, especially when you want to convey compassion and support. However, this may actually be signaling that all they really need is someone to listen to their concerns instead of offering solutions. Your intuition can be relied on for further understanding.
Venus ~ Your home is a place of both beauty and security and you enjoy making friends and family welcome and loved. However, during this period your perceptions involving nurturing both self and others seem either out of balance or unrealistic. It may be that you need to rely more on your instincts and intuition when choosing the relationships you have with others. Otherwise, your insecurities may lead you to people-pleasing or unhealthy boundaries that could result in manipulation on your part.
Mars ~ You work well with others in situations where you can express your ideas; however, your creativity can be undermined by a lack of healthy choices which can impact collaborative efforts. So, be certain that you focus your energy and intention on taking care of yourself and on issues that provide inspiration to others.
Jupiter ~ (Retro) You derive inspiration from the freedom to express yourself creatively, but you would benefit from expanding your reliance on your instincts and intuition and staying present in the moment. In that way, you can take command of the path you’re on.
Saturn ~ (Retro) You continue to work diligently with others and contribute a unique perspective or insight to any situation or challenge that arises. However, you also continue to experience insecurity regarding your abilities, especially when around authority figures who don’t appreciate your unique approach. Seeking a compromise is likely necessary.
Uranus ~ (Retro) You’re uninterested in conventional relationships, preferring those that align with your need for individuality and freedom of expression. And you may also meet new people during this period who appreciate and benefit from your original approach to problem-solving.
Neptune ~ (Retro) Your spiritual awareness is aligned with your intuition and it may motivate you to put others first before expressing your own ideas. In truth, your spirituality is based on unity consciousness and you inspire others to that same awareness. However, remaining present and grounded in the moment and to earthly energies align you well with spiritual expression.
Pluto ~ Interactions with partners or family members continue to be fairly intense with power struggles during this period. As with last week, consider how you express your own need for personal power to others and stand firm if your boundaries or opinions are not respected.
Chiron ~ (Retro) You may gain insight this week regarding feelings of inadequacy that stem from childhood which you feel comfortable sharing with others. Issues of violation create a struggle with self-assertion, or conversely, you may experience a strong need to control. If so, avoid allowing feelings of victimhood to drive your perceptions or decisions.
