Weekly Esoteric Influences
The Esoteric Forecast is a comprehensive look at both the weekly planetary information as well as the daily forecast. The planetary information presented is from daily astrological charts over the course of the week, while the daily information is gleaned from each day’s I Ching-based Human Design chart, runes from both the Elder Futhark and geomancy, Cosmic Ray information, and numerology. Both the astrological and Human Design charts are cast for 8:00 am Pacific time.

Regarding the Cosmic Ray Influences
The effect of the seven cosmic Rays essentially impacts the soul/ego balance at any given moment. As the Rays move through the universe and ultimately reach each individual, they color (or influence) our perceptions and behavior. If we perceive our experiences from a soul perspective, then our overall perspective resonates from a higher vibration; whereas, if we react from the standpoint of ego, our resonance becomes lower and more reactive. The breakdown of the Rays follows with the daily Ray balance reflected in the daily influences.

3rd Ray – active intelligence
4th Ray – harmony through conflict
5th Ray – concrete science and knowledge

Throughout the week you have a powerful influence on others and you’re successful in a manner that makes you stand out in the crowd. However, at the beginning of the week, you may struggle with understanding or conveying to others an overall picture which may impact your relationship with authority figures. Toward the end of the week, your intuition is strong and you may have an opportunity to share your awareness with those around you.

You’re most grounded at home when you can accomplish tasks and share ideas with others. However, sometimes you extend your support and assistance when it’s not needed with others feeling a bit smothered by you. Plus, if you assert your opinions too strongly, others may be less likely to hear your perspective. Your intuition should help in that regard.

You may struggle with interference from others today which may impact your enthusiasm and timing. However, this is not unexpected and you’ve been preparing for any challenges that arise. Your leadership may be valuable to those who wish to avoid any drama as you sort out which opinions serve a positive outcome and which simply are an exercise of will or ego. In the end, you’ll be the one who brings order to chaos.

At the beginning of the week you desire freedom and independence in your relationships with a close partner, likely motivated by intimacy issues from childhood. However, as the week progresses, you’re aware of messages from both your inner and external realities that can potentially foster a more realistic balance. A complex rune, Mannaz represents the individual within the family or society, and its presence today invokes integration with others, especially if some level of healing has taken place. Perhaps there has been some conflict resulting from irrationality or interference, and irrespective of who is at fault, eventually you have to come back together to reset the table, so to speak. At that point, you can find creative solutions that were once perceived as impossible.

Venus
1st House/Aquarius

You’re a compassionate partner and you express empathy easily; however, there may be some changes on the horizon involving either your interactions with your partner or a shared financial situation that could impact your future. Boundaries may be fragile, so be clear and respect your partner’s opinions and needs.

Tarot Card of the Week

The Hermit card from the beautiful Haindl deck invokes higher awareness. We see an old man standing on a mountaintop, a shepherd’s staff in his right hand and a lighted lantern in his left. His arms reach out to receive inner wisdom from the large Moon above. He is surrounded by birds, primarily owls, signaling clear sight, prophecy, or inner soul awareness, as well as an elemental gnome peering out to witness his revelation. A large owl extends its wings above the Hermit, perhaps an intermediary between the physical and astral realms.

Along with the Hebrew glyph, Yod (hand), two runes are visible on the card: within his lantern, we see Hagall (Hagalaz in the Elder Futhark) suggesting the transformative ability of the soul’s light, while the rune Is (Isa) appears in the upper right-hand corner suggesting alignment in Spirit or possibly the concentration of spiritual will. And if you look closely, you’ll see a pyramid containing the all-seeing eye of the Creator nest to The Hermit’s staff.

The Hermit retreats from the chaos of the world to gain enlightenment. As card nine from the Major Arcana, he aligns with The Moon, the 18th card which also has a nine numerology and the subconscious realm. With his shepherd’s staff, he guides the message of spirituality he will offer to humanity as he raises his lantern to bring light to and transform the world.

Truly reflective of the as above, so below nature of physical reality, when this card appears, it signals the need to understand the higher truth of who we are and how we perceive the world around us.
Herb of the Week
Juniper
Juniper communis

Juniper comes in many varieties whether they’re the full-grown trees that grow on my property or they’re the landscaping shrubs you buy at the local garden shop. The berries are used in medicinal teas and tinctures and can also be ground up as part of herbal incense. The “leaves” can also be incorporated in smudges. 

Juniper’s day is Sunday which signals the Fire Element, The Sun, and the astrological sign, Leo. Witches know and utilize its power, To Will, and its direction is South.

Given its embodiment of elemental Fire, Juniper’s energetic effect is active, masculine, and projective. And Juniper is associated with the goddess, Brigid, the archangel, Michael, and the Olympic Spirit, Och. 

Magickal uses include increasing wealth and success, illumination, protection, and healing. And it can be burned in a cauldron for the purpose of exorcism or as part of some Yule herbal incense. Among other numerous uses, Juniper berries can be strung together and hung above a door for protection or added to a charm/mojo/gris gris bag. And the berries can also be placed on the altar to help define the working. 
 

In herbal preparations, the berries are used, and energetically, Juniper is considered to be cold and dry. The berries are diuretic as well as carminative. They can be used to treat kidney stones and the crushed berries can be used as a poultice for neuralgia or rheumatic pain.

Spellcasting Tips/Correspondences

  • Candles can be scribed, anointed in ritual oil, and then rolled in crushed herbs for additional effect
