Exploring Tarot: 2 of Wands
In the 2 of Wands, we see a merchant, wearing a brown cape over his clothing along with a red hat, holding a globe in his right hand, as he looks out from a rooftop. He holds a staff in his left hand while a second staff is affixed to the small wall behind him. The two staffs create a doorway of sorts, with the staff affixed to the wall symbolizing his past successes or endeavors, while the staff in his hand symbolizes all there is to come. The globe suggests that all things are possible as he plans his future.
A card of Mars in Aries, as the man looks toward the water below, he’s energized and motivated to excel in his new endeavor. The two numerology suggests balance, and when aligned with the suit of Wands, suggests creative balance. The roses and lilies on the wall next to him also symbolize the balance between spirituality and expressing one’s passion, and the impact of higher awareness on the choices the man makes.
