Exploring Tarot: Ace of Pentacles
The Ace of Pentacles depicts a hand reaching out from a cloud holding a large coin. Energy emanates from the hand suggesting the manifestation of material security. Lilies are visible growing on both sides of a pathway that leads to a hedge and archway covered by roses. The lilies represent purity, innocence, and a blend of masculine and feminine energy, while the roses embody love and passion.
The brown pathway leads to mountains beyond the archway suggesting the end of one phase and the beginning of something new, and in the case of Pentacles, it may be a new opportunity that leads to material or financial security. The flowers covering the wall and archway suggest stability, while the hand itself reaching out from the cloud suggests either unseen assistance, or unexpected opportunity. The hand can also symbolize invoking spiritual or higher awareness into one’s physical reality.
The suit of Pentacles reflects Elemental Earth and the expression of that element’s characteristics (money, tradition, security, wealth, inheritance, growth) into the suit. When the Ace of Pentacles appears in a reading, it signals a new path is forming that ensures your future will be stable and financially secure.
