Exploring Tarot: 2 of Pentacles
A man wearing a tall hat and brown tunic over a red shirt and red tights stands on one foot as he juggles two large coins wrapped in a strap that is in a lemniscate or figure eight pattern. A dual line separates him from the ocean behind him where ships travel on dangerous waters. The 2 of Pentacles describes weighing options that are material in nature. The decision invokes strong emotions but he’s focused on the coin that best suits his needs. Change is continuous, and the juggler must manage the unsettled and evolving aspects of that change.
When the 2 of Pentacles appears in a reading, it asks the individual to consider all options in a manner that preserves his or her material security, whether that involves a new job or another option for increasing one’s income such as further education or training. And though it may be emotionally challenging, striking a balance may be in order.
