As Above, So Below ~ 2024 Forecast, 1 January 2024

- Significator runes: Algiz (15th rune, Air/Fire/Water, elk, protection, bridge between physical and astral realms, higher consciousness, divinity); Fortuna Major (greater fortune, success, ego, achievement, micromanaging, inner assistance)
- Cards: Page of Pentacles, 8 of Swords, The Hermit (9), and the 3 of Wands
- Patterns: Earth, Air, Fire, Major Arcana
- Overall numerology: Cards: 8++9+3=20; 2+0=2 (balance, love, unity, decisions, reciprocity); Cards and Elder Futhark rune: 15+2=17; 1+7=8 (reinforces the 8 numerology for 2024, and inner strength, leadership, greater harmony, and material recognition and approval)
Since this is the first reading for 2024, I’m going to interpret the significator runes for the entire year and then draw four cards, each one representing a quarter (3-month period) in 2024.
Algiz, the 15th rune of the Elder Futhark, as the as above rune, represents the elk or elk sedge. It also represents drawing down higher consciousness into our physical awareness and reality. Essentially Algiz is asking each one of us to view our experiences throughout the year from a higher perspective. Fortuna Major, the geomancy rune for the so below side of the equation, suggests greater fortune and success. Together, the runes appear to be saying if we want to be successful in 2024, we need to take a more spiritual approach to what it is to be successful. It’s not that it can’t involve money, because given the year’s eight numerology and the idea of material recognition, it certainly could involve that. But from a higher perspective, our understanding of higher truth and how that influences our decisions and our relationships with others may be the better option.
1st Quarter – Page of Pentacles
Moving on to the cards, the Page of Pentacles, representing the first quarter of the year, indicates a spiritual focus or education. The Page is reliable, dependable, and conscientious. The suit of Pentacles represents Elemental Earth and our physical reality, foundation, grounding, material security, and issues of daily life. Perhaps we learn some fundamental truths during the first quarter of the year that give us more information that could ultimately shift our perceptions in a way that grounds us in truth instead of the emotional reactions we have become caught up in over the last few years.
2nd Quarter – 8 of Swords
The 8 of Swords illustrates a woman standing in wet sand who is bound and blindfolded while eight swords surround her. She appears to be shutting off the noise or influence around her, as well as her own thoughts and perceptions, and going within to find a higher truth. We can see that one foot is touching the sand while the other is slightly in the water, suggesting that she’s trying to find some emotional grounding and the only way to do that is to ignore everything she believes and find the higher truth within. So, in the second quarter of 2024, we all may be reassessing past perceptions and rejecting the propaganda or lies that someone else wants us to believe instead of what’s actually true.
3rd Quarter – The Hermit
The Hermit, card 9 from the Major Arcana, illustrates a cloaked older man standing atop a snowy mountain holding a staff in one hand and a lantern lighted by a Merkaba in his other. The Hermit helps us withdraw from the chaos illustrated by the 8 of Swords, and, along with Algiz, enables us to draw down higher wisdom so that we begin to see our experiences from a higher perspective. So, the third quarter of the year may reinforce the inner awareness that we began understanding and relying on in the 2nd quarter.
4th Quarter – 3 of Wands
Note that in the video I initially said the 3 of Wands represented the 3rd Quarter, but in fact, it’s the 4th. Here we see a merchant stepping through a metaphorical door created by two staffs fixed to the ground while holding a staff in his right hand. He looks out over yellow water for his future to manifest. The suit of Wands reflects Elemental Fire and the expression of will, creativity, motivation, and success. He made his decision in the 2 of Wands regarding a new opportunity and now he awaits its successful manifestation. So, by the 4th quarter, the 3 of Wands seems to suggest that we’ve let go of perceptions that only benefited someone else’s agenda, and we’ve begun to see our reality from a more spiritual or enlightened place. From there, we stand in our own power and manifest a positive outcome.
SUMMATION
Essentially, today’s reading suggests that we may experience a transformation of belief during 2024 that leads us to stand in our power and truth. We do our due diligence during the first quarter of the year, and then in the 2nd quarter, reject the propaganda of others by going within to access a higher perspective that isn’t impacted by the ego’s hold on our thoughts and decisions. In the 3rd quarter, we retreat further to affirm what we’ve learned and the perceptions we’ve rejected so that we allow higher wisdom to set our true course. And then when we take that course during the 4th quarter of the year, we stand in our own power to express our leadership and achieve our true purpose.
