As Above, So Below for Monday, 29 January 2024
The reading notes for today’s reading are below. You’re welcome to watch the video here.
- Significator runes: Othala (24th rune, Earth, sacred space, ancestral heritage, Akash, protection, prosperity, balance, loyalty, tradition, security, peace, inheritance, possessions), Via (path, way, stuck in perception)
- Cards: The Moon (18), The Queen of Swords, Ace of Pentacles (1)
- Patterns: one card from each group (Major Arcana, Court (Minor Arcana), and Ace (Minor Arcana)
- Overall numerology: 24+18+1 = 43; 4+3=7 (observation, letting things settle out, balance, witchcraft, spirituality); Monday’s numerology for the day is 29 which reduces to eleven, which is the Master number for awakening and enlightenment.
Othala and Via are the significator runes for today’s reading. Othala is comprised by Kenaz ᚲ in all directions as well as Inguz ᛜ on top and Gebo ᚷ on the bottom. Energetically, it’s the soul’s force that invokes and expresses that higher vibratory energy into our awareness and interactions with others. However, as the final rune of the Elder Futhark, Othala is essentially about all we’ve learned or gained while in physical form. It’s the fundamental tradition we share and the legacy we extend to others. Othala involves our material security, ancestral inheritance, and the Akashic record of our lives. In short, Othala represents the sacred space that we hold in physical reality. Via, today’s geomancy rune, reflects a new path or journey. Together with today’s Master 11 numerology, Othala, and Via suggest a new spiritual path may be opening that brings about a whole new kind of sacred space, tradition, and legacy in your life.
Today’s cards include The Moon from the Major Arcana, the Queen of Swords from the Court (also Minor Arcana), and the Ace of Pentacles from the Minor Arcana. The numerology for the cards is one (18+1-19; 1+9=1) or new beginnings. Adding in the numerology of 6 from Othala (2=4=6), the overall numerology of the reading becomes 7 or observation and letting a situation settle so that you gather enough facts to form a decision about it.
Looking at The Moon first, we see a dog and a wolf barking at the unhappy Moon above while a crayfish surfaces at the pond’s edge. A path winds between the pond below, two towers, and the mountains in the distance. The Moon describes dreams, one’s emotional balance (the wolf and dog on either side of a path, and the two towers suggest this), rebirth and transformation (the crayfish coming out of the water suggests this), intuition, change, illusion, and deception. And in this reading it may be talking about deception either from you or someone else, especially considering the Queen of Swords that follows.
The Queen of Swords sits on her throne, holding her hand out to beckon someone unseen to come forth. Her sword is pointed to heaven and clouds surround her with blue sky above. The Queen of Swords represents an older woman in authority who doesn’t appreciate deception from anyone. She asserts her position as her mighty sword cuts through illusion. Next to The Moon, instead of self-deception, the Queen may be defining this to be deception from someone else. Either way, she insists on honesty both from herself and from others.
Lastly, we come to the Ace of Pentacles where we see a hand reaching out from a cloud holding a large coin. A straight path is visible with lilies on either side that suggests new beginnings. It extends through an archway that connects one hedgerow with another with a mountain in the distance. Although there are challenges ahead beyond the archway, a new path is opening that can foster material security and stability. In conjunction with The Moon and the Queen of Swords, The Ace of Pentacles may be that as truth is revealed, a new beginning is possible that may create a better sense of security for you.
