New Moon Altar: Letting Go of What No Longer Serves

We’ve all reached that point, when the struggle is just too great, and letting go is the only option that makes any sense at all. That’s where I find myself these days. Reality is a tricky deal, particularly when those involved disagree on its definition.

If you’re like me, you believe that each of us creates the world we see. I believe we’re extensions of Source Energy in physical form, and we create this universe together. I believe in the presence of a collective consciousness that permeates everything and everyone. So, in a sense, the world we see is impermanent, illusory at best. We can choose to see it any way we wish.

Do we see another through the eyes of Source, or ego? Do we regard another as an extension of Source, or do we judge him as less than? Do we see oneness, or separation?

How we see one another matters. And it costs nothing to be kind. For some, that’s an impossible lesson to learn, their perception so clouded by vested interest that they refuse to see the truth in front of them, running roughshod over everyone in their path.

The last few years have been a real test in letting go, supreme patience, and making decisions. I never give up on people, and maybe that’s my problem. I always believe that we can see things another way, or perhaps agree to disagree. Maybe I hang on too long. Maybe I give too many chances. As much as I create the space for change, I also create the space for more of the same.

But now it’s time to let go, to walk away. Hanging in there only creates the space for more confusion and pain, and I’m done with that. But I had to be sure, and an unexpected phone call brought that clarity, as perception clouded the other’s view. They never realized that I withdrew long ago, ready for when this day would come.

So in letting go, I feel no sense of loss, but instead a way forward. No longer trapped in another’s narrative, I can now create my own. If past is prologue, they won’t notice. And maybe that’s a good thing.

~Blessings to all!
