- Patterns: two cards from the suit of Wands, one card from the Major Arcana, one Ace

Uruz and Puer are today’s significator runes for the reading. Uruz, representing the as above side of the equation, describes manifestation from a place of strength or higher perspective, invoking that energy into physical reality. Although Uruz invokes change, a Water element energy, its manifestation also reflects the expression of will which reflects the Fire element. Puer, the geomancy rune for today that describes the energy influencing physical reality or ego, suggests a lack of impulse control could be a factor in what you manifest today.
Today’s cards included The Devil, the Ace of Wands, and the 2 of Wands. The suit of Wands represents the Fire element and the expression of will in our lives and with two of the three cards from the same suit, it relates well to both significator runes and their expression of will.
Beginning with The Devil, we see a goat/bat-like figure perched on top of a post with a ring attached to it. Two chains are attached to the post and extend to the necks of the man and woman below. The Devil figure has his arms raised in the same as above so below stance seen in the Magician card except his torch is pointed down to physical reality while the Magician’s wand is pointed up to heaven. The Devil represents a negative influence, greed, self-imprisonment, or being a slave to desire, and it asks you to consider how strong your ego is driving the choices you’re making in what you manifest (Uruz) today.
Moving on to the Ace of Wands, we see a hand forcefully reaching out from a cloud holding a crude club or branch. Life is still visible in the branch evidenced by the smaller branches that continue to grow. A castle is on a hill in the background and a river winds through the land. The Ace of Wands invokes creativity and new opportunities as well as the will. Are you manifesting from a place of higher vision or is the reactive ego controlling the outcome?
Lastly, The 2 of Wands illustrates a man standing on top of a bridge or building holding a staff in one hand while a second staff is affixed to the wall next to him. He holds a globe in one hand while he looks out over the world below considering all the opportunities he has before him. The two numerology indicates not only balance, love, healing, and reciprocity, it also represents a decision that needs making. And will that decision reflect higher awareness (Uruz, The Devil) or a lack of impulse control (Puer)?
SUMMATION
You may need to decide on a new opportunity or direction today. Where that decision comes from can determine its success. Are you doing your due diligence and finding out everything you can about the opportunity in front of you or are you acting in haste and potentially making that decision in a reactive way? Uruz suggests that you need to manifest from a higher vision while Puer is just fine with taking the first thing that looks good. Today’s overall Master numerology of eleven also reinforces enlightenment over ego. So, whatever decision you make, understand that reacting impulsively may not ultimately turn out well for you.
Blessings!
