As Above, So Below for Monday, 12 February 2024
The reading notes for today’s reading are below. You’re welcome to watch the video here.
- Significator runes: Ansuz (4th rune, Odin’s rune, eloquence, divinity, spirit communication, Higher Self, clarity); Acquisitio (gain, increase, goal-directed, overconfidence)
- Cards: 8 of Wands, 3 of Swords, Judgment
- Patterns: Fire, Air, Major Arcana
- Overall numerology: 4+8+3+20=35; 3+5=8 (leadership, harmony, material recognition/approval)
Ansuz and Acquisitio are today’s significator runes suggesting that you gain something by allowing higher awareness to inform a situation that’s been revealed. Along with the overall numerology of eight, it may also indicate that you may need to assert yourself, take ownership of, or make a decision(s) to deal with that situation.
Today’s cards included the 8 of Wands, 3 of Swords, and Judgment. So, right away, a cursory look at the cards shows a betrayal of trust with the 3 of Swords. But let’s look at the 8 of Wands first. Here you see eight staffs or poles being thrown into the scene suggesting swift movement or a lot coming in on you. A small castle is visible on the hill just beyond the winding river. The suit of Wands reflects the Fire element (creativity, spark of life, motivation, opportunities). The card’s eight numerology establishes the ownership or leadership you must embrace by looking realistically at what’s happening without becoming overwhelmed by it.
Next, the 3 of Swords depicts three swords piercing a large red heart while rain pours down from the clouds above. Notice that two swords appear behind the center sword suggesting a love triangle or at minimum a betrayal from others. This could be the situation about which the 8 of Wands is trying to warn or alert you to because in alignment with the 3 of Swords, that’s what the 8 of Wands may be trying to tell you about. It’s similar to a bunch of red flags going up to alert you to something important that’s happening. Notice as well the shared numerology of the two cards that reduces to 11, the Master Number for illumination, awakening, and enlightenment. I believe this reinforces the need to be aware of some kind of betrayal that’s going on behind your back.
At this point, we know that a betrayal of some kind is happening and there are indicators of that betrayal that you cannot ignore. Ansuz is the divine communication then that alerts you to the overall truth of the situation. And while you might not feel at this moment that you’re gaining anything, in time you’ll realize that knowing the truth is better than being undermined or betrayed.
Finally, we come to Judgment, the 20th card from the Major Arcana. The Archangel Gabriel is blowing his horn and everyone is rising up from their coffins with their arms raised in supplication. Although I don’t care for the title of the card, it’s essentially helping you to awaken to a higher truth and to experience a re-balancing of your awareness. And that could be the source of the Acquisitio or gain that comes from seeing through deception, no matter how difficult that process may be. In the long run, you are the better for it.
SUMMATION
Essentially, a betrayal of trust has occurred, and no matter how upsetting it is you need to see the situation in full clarity to make the best decision possible. Ansuz provides the energy for higher clarity which is necessary to truly understand what the betrayal was about. The red flags can no longer be ignored and the truth is coming out. Whether this involves a love triangle or simply people who are undermining your success, it’s time to see it for what it is and then make the decision that works for you.
