As Above, So Below for Monday, 26 February 2024
The reading notes for today’s reading are below. You’re welcome to watch the video here.
- Significator runes: Dagaz (23rd rune, day, new day, one door closing/another opening, endings/beginnings, dawn, awakening); Caput Draconis (new beginnings, on the threshold, North Node of the Moon, future)
- Cards: Temperance, 2 of Swords, The Tower
- Patterns: Two cards from the Major Arcana
- Overall numerology: 23+14+2+16=55; 5+5=10; 1+0=1 (new beginnings, talent, leadership, the self)
Today’s significator runes include Dagaz and Caput Draconis. Both runes indicate new beginnings with Dagaz suggesting the end of one phase and the beginning of a new one, while Caput Draconis indicates a focus on the future and being on the threshold of something new. The overall numerology of the runes and cards in the reading also reduces to one, or new beginnings, so there is strong reinforcement for a new opportunity arising, or a new direction or path opening for you today.
Looking at the cards, Temperance reflects moderation and adaptation while The Tower blows the lid off of your life, so to speak. In the center, the 2 of Swords could be providing the balance and integration between the two ideas. Typically I would read the 2 of Swords as making a decision in a dispassionate manner, and I suppose it could still mean that, but with Dagaz and Caput Draconis as the overall significators of the reading, I believe it involves balancing the two ideas as you embark upon a new and unexpected path or direction.
Temperance describes moderation, balance, and adaptation. The angel pours water from one cup to another, balancing will (Fire) with emotion (Water). A path winds between the pond and where the Sun rises between two mountain peaks in the distance. In that way, Temperance provides the foundation for new experiences that both Dagaz, Caput Draconis, and The Tower describe.
We see a more disruptive experience with The Tower, where we see a lightning bolt hit the top of the tower, causing fire to break out and two people jumping to safety. The Tower describes disruption and transformation. Everything we know has been shaken up and we now need to deal with its catalytic impact.
The 2 of Swords typically implies a decision needs to be made in a rational manner without emotions getting in the way. Placing that card at the center or transition point in Dagaz, the 2 of Swords suggests that we remain adaptable to a new opportunity that may be unexpected or may challenge all that we’ve experienced in the past. In other words, instead of resisting the new opportunity, we remain adaptable to that new experience that could change everything for you.
SUMMATION
Something new is entering your life that is completely unexpected and you’ll need to remain adaptable to how that may challenge your typical approach. Although the new opportunity may take you outside your comfort zone, in the end, it could transform your life in a positive way.
Blessings!
