Exploring Tarot: Queen of Cups
The Queen of Cups sits on her beautiful throne next to the water’s edge as she gazes at the amphora she holds with both hands. Undines adorn her throne and her cape appears to merge into the rocks below her feet.
A card of Elemental Water, the Queen of Cups is patient, reflective, and loving. Although she is a compassionate healer, she may also have difficulty setting boundaries and may not always be trustworthy.
When the Queen of Cups appears in a reading, she may represent the querent or the qualities the querent may want to embrace. Or the Queen could represent a woman in the querent’s life or someone the querent may come into contact with. Depending upon the other cards in the reading, she could be an ally or someone less than trustworthy.
Reversed, The Queen of Cups represents someone who may be manipulative and isn’t to be trusted.
