SUMMATION
Othala and Laetitia are the significators of today’s reading. Othala, the rune for the Above side, references the sacred space we create in our lives. It’s the culmination of everything the soul learns while in physical reality. Although Othala reflects loyalty and tradition, it also reflects the balance between two visible foundational runes: Inguz ᛜ and Gebo ᚷ. However, we can also see Kenaz ᚲ in all directions contained within both Inguz and Gebo. So, while Inguz represents the seed and the sudden release of creation energy into physical reality (visualize a seed that’s sprouting), Gebo expresses that energy outward into our interactions with others. Kenaz, as the torch, provides the clarity expressed by Higher awareness. So, with that understanding, the complexity of Othala is easy to see and experience. In my opinion, it’s essentially a return to the Light.
Laetitia, as the Below side of the equation, reflects the joy we experience in physical form. However, given the impact of Othala as the Above aspect, it suggests that this type of joy is infused with Spirit.
Moving on to the cards, all three cards are from the Major Arcana which are considered by some Tarot readers to be soul-archetype cards. So, between Othala and the three Major Arcana cards, today’s reading indicates that the issues you might be experiencing can best be dealt with from a Higher perspective.
The Devil, a reactive ego-based card, represents the individual as a slave to desire. And its presence in the reading suggests that you should avoid overreacting to whatever situation you’re experiencing. The Tower illustrates a catalytic situation expressed by a lightning bolt that blows the top off of the tower. The Tower describes transformation, however, given its seven numerology and its interaction with The Devil card, it suggests that transformation happens when you wait to gather all the facts before responding to something that invokes the ego (Devil) within. That way, you don’t overreact or pass judgment before knowing all the facts. In addition, when you allow that transformation to take place, you gain insight and your emotions remain grounded and nourished by Higher awareness expressed by The Star.
So, if you experience an issue or an interaction that’s concerning today, instead of overreacting before knowing all the facts, remain patient and observant so that your response is more non-reactive. That way, your ego doesn’t prevent you from expressing compassion and love, especially if the individual in question isn’t expressing him or herself well. In other words, look beyond the expression and understand the greater message so that you can be supportive instead of reactive. The sacred space that is created by doing so reflects the higher principles of Othala and the sacred relationships we share with all.
