• Patterns: all Minor Arcana cards, a run on 8s so increased strength, leadership, material security/recognition
• Overall numerology: 4+8+8+8=28; 2+8=10; 1+0=1 (new beginnings, talent, leadership, the self, success, motivation, initiation) – also we have a Master 22 numerology for the day itself reinforcing Ansuz (Cosmic Builder, profound soul-level change)

Summation

Today’s significator runes, Ansuz and Populus suggest the need to transmute ego into Spirit today and express yourself with Higher clarity and eloquence. Typically Populus indicates a follower or a crowd, but its implication of dropping resistance leads me to think it has more to do with the ego’s lack of influence than following along with the crowd.

For the cards, we have one from Wands (Fire), one from Cups (Water), and one from Pentacles (Earth). Absent is a card from Swords (Air). However, Ansuz is a rune from Elemental Air, so with Ansuz, all elements are represented in the reading. And even more interesting, each card is an eight which may indicate the inner strength and resolve necessary to transmute ego into Spirit. The overall numerology for the reading is one or new beginnings, talent, leadership, and the self. So, it appears that an expression of inner strength is involved today.

Looking at the cards, the 8 of Wands illustrates eight staffs appearing to be thrown into the situation. It suggests that a lot is coming in on you that could be overwhelming and you may not know where to start to deal with it all. But another way of seeing this is eight new opportunities (or tasks) that can lead to material recognition and success. If you become overwhelmed or pressured by the situation, you may not manage it well.

Next, in the 8 of Cups, you see a man walking uphill with rocks in the way while he holds a staff to move about. Behind him, you see eight cups in two rows with an empty space that almost suggests that the man is the missing ninth cup, as he lets go of emotions that no longer serve him so he can move on with emotions that do serve him. Rather than becoming overwhelmed by the new opportunities or tasks that are causing that reaction in the 8 of Wands, he’s letting go of the overreaction and, even though the new path may be challenging, he’s ready to take on the new opportunities/tasks in a better emotional balance.

Finally, the 8 of Pentacles shows the man working diligently on his craft. The eight coins could represent the eight opportunities from the 8 of Wands. But here he is, working in an area where his work can be seen by others so he can increase his potential clients.

So, if you’re feeling overwhelmed by a lot of things coming in on you today, try seeing them as new opportunities, and instead of becoming overwhelmed or stressed and unable to manage it all, let go of those emotions, prioritize each opportunity or task and then work diligently to accomplish each one. This way, instead of the ego taking charge, the Higher Self takes over and a higher resonance of clarity is achieved.
