- Significator runes: Isa (11th rune, Norn rune of the present, ice, becoming, will development, contraction, focus, consciousness, alignment in Spirit) and Carcer (self-imprisonment, stuck in perception, isolation, outmoded ideas/attitudes, fate, restriction, evil (egoic) influence)
- Cards: Death, The Hermit, The Magician
- Patterns: All Major Arcana cards signaling major soul influence that aligns with Isa and alignment in Spirit
- Overall numerology: 13+9+1=23; 2+3=5 (change, innovation, variety, protection); I’m not including Isa’s 11 numerology given that it’s the Master number for awakening, illumination, and enlightenment; however, if I did then the overall numerology from a lower vibration would be 7 or observation, letting things settle, and balance.
SUMMATION
I began the reading with Isa and Carcer, two runes that imply control but at different ends of the spectrum. Isa, as the 11th rune from the Elder Futhark, invokes the higher will to align in Spirit, while Carcer, today’s geomancy rune, suggests self-imprisonment by ego-based beliefs that hold you in a place that can be difficult to let go of. Isa, as one of the three Norn runes, and Carcer involve fate and who controls that fate. Will it be your soul that is in control, or will it be your ego?
Today’s numerology is interesting because given the Master 11 vibration of Isa, I typically don’t reduce that number any further. Without that numerology, the reading has a numerology of 5, or change. If I did reduce the 11 to 2, then the overall numerology from a lower vibrational perspective would be 7, or observation and letting things settle before making a decision about it. However, since all three cards are from the Major Arcana, that indicates a strong soul influence, so I’ll leave the numerology at 11 and 5 respectively.
With Death, The Hermit, and The Magician, a transition is taking place where you let go of your existing beliefs with Death, reconsider how you experience your life with The Hermit from a Higher perspective, and then manifest new perceptions that draw Higher awareness into your experience in physical reality with The Magician.
Death describes transition whether or not it involves the death of the physical body. If the Death card isn’t talking about someone dying, it suggests a transition in perception or transitioning to a new direction in life. The Hermit suggests that once that transition begins, it may be necessary to retreat or go within to allow Spirit to illuminate your awareness. From there, you can now, with The Magician, manifest new perceptions or a new direction in balance.
With the strength of both Isa and the Major Arcana cards, this reading suggests that powerful change is happening within your awareness and a shift from ego to Higher awareness is taking place. With that conscious alignment in Spirit or Higher awareness, you’re no longer willing to let the ego drive your perceptions and choices and hold you back from achieving higher clarity. The transition is powerful and life-changing, and you’ll likely need to sit with it for a while to understand its higher purpose because, in my opinion, the reading feels like this is happening whether the ego likes it or not.
