Exploring Tarot: 9 of Wands
The 9 of Wands depicts a man holding a staff with a bandage on his head and arm looks back at the staffs behind him. His furtive glance makes the reader wonder if they are there in support, if they reflect an uneasy truce, or if he’s looking for another attack. The upright presentation of each staff suggests strength and independence, and typical interpretations view the staffs as a wall of protection.
Traditional interpretations of the 9 of Wands suggest that a difficult situation may either be over or at least you’ve survived and are ready to continue addressing whatever challenges that exist. Support may be there for you, and through inner resolve, your confidence is restored.
Reversed, the 9 of Wands may indicate that you’re not on firm ground, support may be lacking, or that you lack the inner strength to defend yourself.
