As Above, So Below for Thursday, 30 May 2024
The reading notes for today’s reading are below. You’re welcome to watch the video here.
- Significator runes: Laguz (21st rune, flow in Spirit, intuition, clairsentience, occult, harmony, purification, cleansing, emotional balance) and Carcer (self-imprisonment, isolation, evil (ego) influence, bound, restriction, fate)
- Cards: 4 of Cups, Justice, Queen of Pentacles
- Patterns: one card from each of the three groups: Minor Arcana, Major Arcana, Court (Minor Arcana); passive or receptive influence with Cups (Water) and Pentacles (Earth)
- Overall numerology: higher vibration: 21+4=25; 2+5=7 (balance, observation, letting things settle before coming to a conclusion or decision, magick, spirituality) and the Master number 11 (awakening, enlightenment, illumination); lower vibration: 21+4+11=36; 3+6=9 (endings, completion, spirituality, generosity of spirit)
SUMMATION
The reading begins with flowing in Spirit with Laguz with self-imprisonment experienced by Carcer. In other words, how are we getting in the way of seeing something from a higher perspective today?
Today’s numerology can be seen from both a higher and lower vibratory perspective due to the presence of the Master 11 numerology assigned to the Justice card. Whenever I draw a rune or card that has a Master number, I separate the number from the rest of the numerology and let it stand on its own. In that way, I leave the Master number in its higher vibration instead of reducing it to its lower vibration. Doing that for today’s overall numerology, it results in a 7 and 11 numerology respectively. This suggests letting things settle before coming to a conclusion informed by Higher awareness. If we look at the numerology from a lower vibrational perspective, then we have a 9 numerology suggesting endings, completion, spirituality, and generosity. So, it may suggest the need to let go of emotions that aren’t realistic or are keeping us from viewing a situation with a better emotional balance.
Looking first at the 4 of Cups, we see a man sitting on the ground with his arms and legs crossed in a defensive posture. Three upright cups are on the ground before him while a hand reaches out from a cloud holding a fourth cup in offering. However, the man doesn’t seem to connect with any of this, instead, he’s caught up in emotions that may prevent him from seeing the entire picture. In that respect, the 4 of Cups aligns well with Carcer and the idea of self-imprisonment or being stuck in emotions that aren’t realistic or don’t reflect the truth.
Next, I moved past Justice and talked about the Queen of Pentacles. The Queen is wise, earthy, domestic, Earth mother-like, receptive, generous, and kind. While the Queen extends herself to others in a loving and generous manner, the man in the 4 of Cups is too emotionally defensive to do that. It’s interesting to note that both Cups and Pentacles reflect passive or receptive influences as opposed to Swords and Wands which reflect active or projective influences, so in today’s reading, both cards suggest an inner experience versus one that is external.
Lastly, Justice, the 11th card from the Major Arcana, is a soul archetype card that describes justice, balanced reason, equilibrium, and legal issues. As a soul archetype card, it implies justice influenced by Higher awareness. Whereas Carcer aligns with the 4 of Cups, Laguz would align with Justice and the flow of higher awareness into one’s perceptions. Justice essentially implies that whatever the man in the 4 of Cups is experiencing, he needs to take the ego out of it and see it from a more emotionally balanced perspective.
Overall, something could be happening in your life where you become caught up in your emotions and are unable to see the situation objectively. If so, then you might need to step outside your comfort zone and talk to a trusted mentor or counselor so you can work through your feelings to achieve a better emotional balance and develop more realistic expectations.
