SUMMATION
The reading begins with Hagalaz and Fortuna Minor, which suggest some reevaluation may be necessary regarding the process you’re taking to achieve a particular objective. The reading’s nine numerology suggests endings or completion as well as generosity and spirituality, so it reinforces the idea of stepping back and taking another look at the process involved before moving forward, and as the cards will suggest, even if you need to drop your ego to make that happen.
Today’s cards included the 7 of Wands, 4 of Cups, and the 7 of Cups. Immediately there’s a pattern of two 7s that surround the 4 which may suggest stepping outside your comfort zone to gain an overall understanding. With two cards from the Suit of Cups, there’s a strong emotional component to your response or perspective. But we begin with the 7 of Wands and a man holding a staff in a defensive posture. Six more staffs rise up from below and he appears to be standing his ground after getting above the situation. The suit of Wands reflects the Fire element and the expression of will, initiation, and creativity. So, it may be that the man is defending himself and his own creative process.
Moving on to the 4 of Cups, we also see some resistance expressed with this card by the defensive posture the man in the card takes. He’s not relying on any oak strength from the tree behind him, nor is he accepting the emotional support offered by the hand reaching out from the small cloud, and in a sense, he’s emotionally stuck. So, we initially have two cards, the 7 of Wands and the 4 of Cups, that both involve a feeling of defensiveness. And with Hagalaz as one of the significator runes, we can surmise that the defensiveness isn’t going to accomplish anything other than a continuation of the problem.
Lastly, the 7 of Cups shows a man in silhouette looking at seven cups with different contents sitting atop clouds. The 7 of Cups can be interpreted as having your head in the clouds, engaging in fanciful thinking, or dreaming new dreams. But in context with Hagalaz and Fortuna Minor as well as the other two cards, the 7 of Cups can be seen as looking at only the outcome while not taking into account the process used or the path taken to get there.
Missing from the reading are cards from the suits of Pentacles (Earth) and Swords (Air) which provide the basis or process used to transform the situation. Remaining grounded with Earth and being able to analyze the situation with Air provide the way forward to let go of both willfulness and an emotional response (ego reaction) and begin analyzing the process so you can achieve both your objective and a positive outcome.
If this resonates, you may need to get out of your own way to determine where the issue lies that is preventing you from achieving your goals.
Blessed Be
