Exploring Tarot: The Hermit
The Magus of the Voice of Power. A cloaked older man with his hair and beard both white stands atop a snowy mountain, a staff in his left hand and a lighted lamp in his right. He looks downward, his Merkaba-shaped light illuminating the world below.
Card 9 from the Major Arcana, The Hermit retreats from the chaos of the world below him to find inner strength, guidance, and alignment in Higher Consciousness. He is on the path of enlightenment and his light illuminates and awakens that same truth to all who live below.
The Hermit represents the journey each one takes toward awakening and alignment in who we are as souls with the Collective Consciousness and the realm of All That Is. Upright in a reading, The Hermit may invoke inner counsel, or wisdom from someone else. Or he may indicate a new spiritual path is there. Reversed, he may indicate irresponsibility or an unwillingness to believe facts.
