SUMMATION
Today’s runes, Thurisaz and Laetitia, describe either defending yourself or controlling your impulses to protect your overall happiness. The five numerology of the reading also supports the idea of protection.
The cards appear to suggest a career focus given the run on Wands (Fire element) where we initially see a man in the 10 of Wands carrying 10 staffs which can either describe carrying a heavy burden or the opportunities he’s gathered up to take home to support his material security. A numerology of 10 reduces to one that represents new beginnings, so there could be something related to a business that you’ve either just started or is now beginning to take on new jobs or clients.
If this is describing a career situation, the 7 of Wands may be describing standing your ground against opposition or competition from other businesses. Or if the reading isn’t describing a business you own, it can still apply to a work situation where competition between co-workers is a factor you need to protect yourself from.
Lastly, the 3 of Pentacles seems to define the focus of the reading, again whether it’s a business you own or one that you work for. The 3 of Pentacles involves working your craft (business, job) in a way that draws attention from others, whether it be potential customers or the boss. The craftsman depicted on the card works out in the open so others see what he has to offer. He’s taken on new opportunities in the 10 of Wands and defended his position in the 7 of Wands so that he can become accomplished and successful, all of which protects his happiness and material security in life.
Overall, the reading suggests that protecting your interests can lead to success in your career and the happiness and material security you need in your life. That may take controlling your impulses as well as standing your ground against competition or others trying to undermine your success, but in the end, when you do so, you create the life you want.
