As Above, So Below for Thursday, 18 July 2024
The reading notes for today’s reading are below. You’re welcome to watch the video here.
- Significator runes: Ansuz (4th rune, Odin’s rune, spirit communication, eloquence, higher clarity) and Albus (sage, wisdom, clarity)
- Cards: 8 of Cups, 10 of Swords, Judgment (20)
- Patterns: an alignment between the 8 and the 10 cards that suggest letting go of what no longer serves, and the awakening that can result (Judgment)
- Overall numerology: 4+8+10+20=42; 4+2=6 (harmony, empathy, guidance, assistance)
SUMMATION
With Ansuz and Albus suggesting higher awareness and wisdom, it appears that today’s reading surrounds drawing in Higher awareness and then expressing that to others or allowing it to inform your own perceptions and emotions. The six numerology for the reading may reinforce either choice in the compassion, empathy, or assistance you show someone else or to yourself.
The 8 of Cups and the 1o of Swords share the same idea of letting go of what no longer serves. In the case of the 8 of Cups, this involves emotions and the reactions that result. The 10 of Swords involves letting go of perceptions or thoughts that no longer serve. The numerology between the two cards is nine, or endings and completion, which also reinforces the idea of something coming to an end. Then, adding in Judgment (card 20 from the Major Arcana), its own two numerology suggests a rebalancing of sorts, in this case, learning to see things from a Higher perspective instead of from the reactive ego.
The 8 of Cups describes understanding your emotional reactions, taking what you need, and leaving the rest behind. You’re then ready to move forward on a new path irrespective of the challenges ahead. The 10 of Swords illustrates a man on the ground with ten swords piercing his back. The night appears to be lifting and the daylight is returning. The man’s head is turned toward the light symbolizing new perceptions forming. Essentially, the 10 of Swords suggests letting go of perceptions or thoughts that no longer serve him.
Lastly, Judgment, card 20 from the Major Arcana, describes awakening, rebirth, and transformation. It also describes seeing the bigger picture. Taken together, the runes and cards counsel you to let go of emotions and thoughts/perceptions that no longer serve you, and awaken to a different way of viewing your experiences and how you feel about them. Ansuz and Albus define that further as allowing Higher awareness to inform your perceptions, thoughts, and feelings/reactions.
The overall message can apply to both an internal or external situation or experience. Externally, for example, you may have the opportunity to offer empathy, compassion, or support to someone without trying to solve the problem for them. Internally, you could be reevaluating your overall perceptions and reactions. You could do this via meditation, or taking time to consider your perceptions and emotional reactions from a higher perspective so you consider the bigger picture.
