- Patterns: all elements other than Earth are represented
- Overall numerology: 16+5+4=25; 2+5=7 (observation, balance, justice, analysis, spirituality)
SUMMATION
Sowilo and Puer begin today’s reading with its overall message of allowing Higher wisdom to control one’s impulsivity. Sowilo, as the 16th rune from the Elder Futhark, has a numerology of seven, and it strikes a balance between higher awareness and ego by its ability to transmute ego into Spirit. In synchronicity with Sowilo’s numerology, the overall numerology of the reading is also seven, suggesting a balanced viewpoint that begins in higher awareness and then is expressed in the ego’s response.
Today’s cards are the 5 of Swords, 4 of Cups, and the King of Wands. Together they suggest an argument or some kind of intellectual conflict has happened with one person as the victor. In the 5 of Swords, one person near the water’s edge holds his head while another takes a step toward the man perhaps to offer support. But the man picking up the swords looks all too happy about his victory, suggesting that he may have had the advantage from the beginning.
Next, in the 4 of Cups, a man sits cross-legged with his arms also crossed with his eyes looking toward the ground. Three cups sit upright in front of him while another is in a hand reaching out from a small cloud to his right. A large oak tree stands tall behind him, but it doesn’t appear that the man derives any strength from the tree’s energy, nor does he derive any emotional strength from the cups in the scene. Instead, he appears to be caught up in his own emotions. Maybe he’s the same man who stands near the water’s edge in the 5 of Swords, and he’s still upset about what has happened.
Finally, the King of Wands ends the reading by suggesting either the qualities of that particular King or a wise mentor the man can reach out to for advice. Or, if this reading describes a work situation, the King could be the authority figure in the story. Considering this card from its qualities, the King of Wands could be suggesting that the man use his inner strength and authority to accept the situation as it is and to move forward. If this is a work situation, then it could mean that irrespective of whose idea was chosen, it’s time to collaborate with others to manifest a positive outcome. It could also be cautioning the man to not sabotage the choice that was made by refusing to engage with others.
So, it may be that you’ve lost an argument or your idea wasn’t implemented today; however, although you may be upset about that decision, your inner wisdom and authority counsel you to keep moving forward and not try to sabotage the outcome. In the long run, if this is a work situation, those in authority will notice that you’re a team player and could be more receptive to your ideas in the future.
