SUMMATION
Today’s reading begins with Laguz and Amissio as our significator runes. Laguz involves flow from higher awareness and intuition while Amissio signals a loss or decrease of something, possibly ego. The overall numerology for the reading is nine which represents endings and completion, spirituality, and generosity which reinforces the message of the two runes.
The cards for the reading were two cards from the Major Arcana: The Fool and The Star, as well as one from the Minor Arcana and the Suit of Wands: the 7 of Wands. Looking at the 7 0f Wands first, we see a man holding a staff in a defensive posture while still showing some vulnerability with his stance. He appears to be on higher ground than where the other staffs in the card are depicted suggesting that he’s standing his ground against challenges from below. However, the fact that he’s standing above the fray suggests a need to know more about the situation with which he’s dealing, which in my opinion, reflects higher awareness versus the reactive ego.
Moving on to The Fool, we’re looking at undeveloped potential. The Fool represents the soul before taking its leap into physical reality. The Fool looks upward to the light of collective consciousness and trusts that it has everything it needs to make its new journey. Relating to the 7 of Wands, however, it could indicate the man trusts that he has all he needs to defend his position. He’s observed the challenges before him and what’s at stake and he now feels self-confident enough to know that he has what he needs to defend himself. He’s let go of fear because he understands what he’s looking at and he has the undeveloped potential to be successful.
Lastly, The Star describes the man’s hopes and dreams, his optimism, insight, and inspiration. The goddess in her nude form has one foot on the water and one knee on the ground suggesting the need to be grounded in Spirit or higher awareness instead of by the reactive ego. In connection to the 7 of Wands, The Star reinforces the need to respond to whatever challenges the man faces from the perspective of higher awareness.
Essentially, today’s reading is suggesting that if you need to stand your ground, gathering as much information as possible before you do so may increase your chances of success. Doing so involves gaining a higher perspective instead of simply reacting from ego. It also allows you to be in control of the situation and to express yourself with self-confidence, integrity, and resolve.
