SUMMATION

Othala ᛟ and Carcer begin the reading at odds with each other. Othala contains the energy of both Inguz ᛜ and Gebo ᚷ, each of which is comprised by Kenaz ᚲ in all directions, and invokes the light of spirit within and without. As the 24th rune from the Elder Futhark, it represents, in effect, how the soul has expressed itself and the culmination of everything the soul has learned during its life in physical reality and the sacred space it has created for itself. Carcer, on the other hand, refers to self-imprisonment by the ego and the tendency to stay stuck in a set of beliefs that are self-serving at best.

The overall numerology of the reading is four which represents the foundation or structure of our life as well as grounding, pragmatism, responsibility, and dependability. So it seems that the reading is focusing on whether we ground ourselves in Higher awareness or if we allow ego to make that decision for us.

The Page of Swords suggests taking risks but doing your due diligence in a rational way before making any decisions. The 6 of Pentacles illustrates an uneven or imbalanced situation where there is a man of means who may think he’s offering assistance to at least one person on the ground, there’s a feeling that his assistance is more of an illusion.

Whereas the Page of Swords may be thinking critically about his future and the decisions he makes that may ultimately express Othala in his life, the man in the 6 of Pentacles isn’t doing anything substantial and may reflect the ego’s hold on his perceptions expressed by Carcer.

Lastly, the 10 of Cups illustrates what happens when you make the right decisions in your life that allow you to increase your material and emotional security and success expressed by Othala to provide the foundation for the life you want.

Essentially, today’s reading is asking you to consider how you create a sacred space in your life that results from material and emotional security. Are you doing that by taking what you’ve learned and applying it to the decisions you make, or are you preventing yourself from moving forward by remaining stuck in perceptions that don’t serve your future endeavors? Invoking higher awareness into all that you do keeps you moving forward in the soul’s adventure in physical reality while remaining stuck in a lower vibration expressed by the ego prevents you from understanding the overall picture and the options to grow and learn that are available to you.
