SUMMATION
Algiz and Carcer begin today’s reading with Algiz drawing down the protection of higher awareness into our daily lives, while Carcer describes self-limiting thoughts, perceptions, and emotions. The overall numerology of today’s reading is seven suggesting observing how your thoughts may either lift you higher or keep you in the place of the ego’s choosing.
Today’s cards include the Ace of Cups, 8 of Swords, and the 10 of Swords. And since both Algiz and Carcer involve thoughts and perceptions, there is an intellectual focus along with an emotional component between both runes and the Ace of Cups. Beginning with the Ace of Cups, this card promises new emotional awareness from the unseen hand of Spirit and all that entails, i.e. compassion, love, empathy, healing, etc. Connecting the Ace with the two cards from the Suit of Swords, along with the seven numerology of the reading, a new balance between emotions and intellect may be in order instead of allowing fear keeping perceptions and beliefs in place that are no longer valid for you.
The 8 of Swords continues the reading with two ways of seeing the card. Either the woman is stuck in perceptions and beliefs and can’t get out of them (aligns well with Carcer), or she’s turning off the noise around her by going within to access higher truth (Algiz). The card’s eight numerology either suggests the strength of perception, or the strength of higher awareness, depending upon how you see this card.
Finally, the 10 of Swords suggests letting go of perceptions and beliefs that have imprisoned you all this time and turning your attention to the light that’s returning. The water in the bay is still, so his emotions have settled to give way to the impact of the Ace of Cups and new emotional awareness.
Whether today’s reading impacts you personally in terms of self-limiting perceptions and emotions, or it’s referring to imprisonment created by the government, are we going to move in a shared positive direction to elevate each other or stay in a place of the ego’s choosing where oppression and the isms of life govern our perceptions, choices, and the relationships we have with others? Algiz emphasizes drawing down higher awareness into our emotions and perceptions and the shared higher consciousness in which we all reside together. We can make this physical reality anything we want it to be, but if we want that reality to be positive, loving, and uplifting, that only happens when we understand who we are to each other. Remember that self-imprisonment by the ego is a choice and not reflective of who we are as souls having this shared physical experience.
