SUMMATION
Dagaz and Populus begin today’s reading by Dagaz suggesting that one phase is ending and a new one is beginning, and Populus indicating the new phase affects a group, family, society, etc. The overall numerology of one reinforces the idea of new beginnings.
The 2 of Swords begins the Tarot portion of the reading by suggesting that a decision needs to be made without emotions getting in the way. The emotions could be fear-based and a more rational decision about the future needs to be made. The 3 of Cups is next suggesting coming together with others in celebration or in establishing common ground, while the King of Wands, as he looks back at the women in the 2 of Wands and the 3 of Cups may be suggesting that they use their collective will to assert themselves in some way.
So, there could be something new coming up where you need to make a decision that is rational and realistic. If this involves work or your family, Populus may be suggesting that whatever the new experience is could impact one or the other, or both. If this reflects the societal changes that could happen in the near future, today’s reading could be alerting you to a decision that must be made regarding those changes, particularly due to the likely impact on women and children.
This issue with Populus and following along with the crowd could be interpreted as dropping resistance and staying within your comfort zone. Or it could represent the cautionary tale that motivates you to see the danger of aligning with the crowd and make the decision to walk away and stand up for ideals that preserve your integrity, dignity, and way of life. The 3 of Cups might then suggest that you come together with other like-minded people, possibly women, to integrate and collaborate on preserving your happiness and success. The King of Wands appears to watch the two other cards and could be a motivating influence on the women to assert themselves in a way that combines their collective will to speak truth to power, in effect, becoming spiritual warriors for truth.
Whether this reading applies to your personal life (work, family) or it applies to the incoming administration’s promise to impact our collective happiness and material security, especially given the attitude they have toward women and the role we play in our society, will you give in, give up, or will you fight back to demand that the rights we’ve fought for be not only preserved but increased? Will women and their allies come together in joy, fellowship, and unity, and refuse to allow the new day to become a collective nightmare? The decisions we make will no doubt be profound as will the changes that may be imposed on us.
Blessed Be
