Cannabis/Hemp, Cannabis sativa/ indica
Also known as marijuana, some say the planet Saturn rules Cannabis. Its element is Earth, its direction is North, its day is Saturday, and its magickal power is To Keep Silence. The energetic effect of Cannabis is feminine, receptive, and passie; and, its associated Deities are Cassiel (angel), and Aratron (Olympic Spirit).
Use in Rituals, Spells, and Magickal Workings
Cannabis leaves, buds (flowers), seeds, and roots can be used in magickal workings, fresh, dried, or powdered. Cannabis is used in magickal workings to assist in astral travel, hedge riding, and meditation. It’s useful in workings to increase healing, and as herbal incense.
Magickal Methodologies
- Fresh or dried Cannabis leaves, buds, seeds, and roots can be used whole on the altar or workspace during magickal workings.
- Dried Cannabis leaves, buds, seeds, and roots can be added to mojo or charm bags and then carried with you to influence a desired outcome.
- You can anoint a candle with oil and then roll the candle in powdered Cannabis leaves, buds, seeds, and roots.
- Dried Cannabis leaves, buds, seeds, and roots can be included in witch bottles or charm/mojo/or hex bags.
- Runes can be passed through the smoke of burning cannabis (leaf or buds) for additional empowerment.
