SUMMATION
Perthro in today’s reading suggests that a decision needs to be made regarding who controls your fate. Albus suggests that higher wisdom should do that instead of something superficial and reactive. The overall numerology of the reading is one, or new beginnings, and possibly leadership.
Two six cards bookend the 2 of Swords in the center, which suggests guidance, assistance, and a shared path/experience/journey. The Lovers card suggests balance and discernment drawn down from Spirit or higher awareness that influences the decision-making process in the 2 of Swords. In the 2, the woman is making a decision dispassionately, again reflecting the discernment expressed by the Lovers card. She turns her back to the water, i.e. emotions, so she can look at the situation rationally. After the decision is made, it appears that she and her family are moving on to a new life or new experience irrespective of the challenges they face (note that the journey over water appears to be in the winter).
With so many people losing their jobs in the federal government in such an indiscriminate and uninformed manner, this reading could be addressing unexpected job loss where a decision needs to be made without emotion guiding that choice. This could be a time when a higher level of discernment is needed, where analysis is involved that looks realistically at what’s possible, which may involve moving to another environment (job, city, state, etc). There’s also a sense in the 6 of Swords where the move is forced instead of convenient and planned for.
If this reading resonates more as a decision about a relationship, then the same decision-making process applies. But it’s clear to me that something external is creating an unexpected situation for you that you now need to deal with, at least initially, controlling your fate. But you have resources you can use (skills, etc) to make the decision that’s best for you in this difficult moment.
Blessed Be
