Successful New Directions

 

Three cards from the Major Arcana are present in this reading. The Moon, Magician, and The Star suggest archetypal or Higher Self influences are in play. The remaining two cards are from the suit of Pentacles which typically deal with the acquisition or possession of wealth.

Beginning with the Four of Pentacles, the man sits in contemplation, holding on tight to his resources. The town behind him in the distance, it’s almost as if he ponders where he belongs, his awareness weighted on the material aspect of Self. Spiritual awareness is present as evidenced by the pentacle above his head, but he clutches his wealth, protecting what he’s built.

The Eight of Pentacles shows a skilled craftsman at work. He focuses on the task at hand with an attention to detail, working his craft, building his wealth in the process. The town is still behind him in the distance, but he’s focused now on creating instead of reflecting.

So what accounted for the shift from reflection to action? Remember the three cards from the Major Arcana? As the man ponders his life and his future, he aligns and embraces Higher Self awareness. His way forward is clear.

The Moon suggests that the man confront any fears that may be keeping him from creating the future he wants. A need for a new direction is stirring within as he reflects on where he’s been.

The Magician stands in balance between physical and nonphysical presence. As above, so below. The man masters all elemental energies to consciously manifest his will. He visualizes what he wants and then manifests that intention.

Inspiration and realizing one’s dreams are the main focus of The Star. With this influence, the man allows his inner voice to guide his way, his wish becoming reality. Yet it’s a reality based upon hard work and due diligence as the skills gained via the Magician’s influence yield the desired results.

We forget that we can change course. We can always begin a new chapter, acquire new skills. If we align with Higher Self presence, the way forward typically becomes clear. When clear patterns emerge in a reading as with the focus on wealth and the archetypal influences from the Majors, it’s easy to see that true wealth is influenced by alignment with Higher Self. Align first and then all things are possible.

From an numerology perspective, the spread overall reduces to a 3 reflecting catalytic energy and creative focus. Also, there’s an interesting pattern with the two Pentacle cards. 8 is a multiple of 4. Four means structure or stability and eight adds to that structure facing challenges in a disciplined manner. With the awareness gained when aligning with Higher Self presence, the man is prepared to handle whatever challenges his new endeavor might bring, secure in the knowing that he’s well-prepared for any outcome.

We can always reinvent ourselves; in fact, reinvention should probably be a continual process. And I believe the spread is suggesting that reflection is most fruitful when aligning first in Higher Self presence, particularly when considering new directions in life.
