Strength and Success ~ Daily Tarot for June 30, 2016
Today’s tarot spread uses the Morgan-Greer tarot deck. I love the deck and I’m inspired by it’s colorfulness and energy. There are always differences in how each card is depicted in various decks and sometimes it affects how I see the card. In the case of this reading, the Page of Pentacles faces left and in the Rider-Waite deck, as an example, it shows the Page facing right which I think it changes the feel of the card.
The three card reading begins with Strength, a card from the Major Arcana, followed by the Page of Pentacles and the Ace of Rods (Wands in other decks). Earth and Fire elements are represented with Strength a card of Leo and lion energy.
The woman sits quietly, arms around the lion. She is centered in her own gentle power, knowing she has the strength necessary to meet all challenges. She manifests wild wisdom and the power of the Goddess within. She’s mastered the effects of the ego, expressing unconditional love and the courage to be wherever she is.
The Page of Pentacles looks to the left, representing the past, in contemplation of all he’s learned. He sees the strong, gentle relationship the woman has with the lion and understands the gift of balance. The student has achieved his goals through inner awareness and strength. Success is at hand, the Page ready to meet new experiences with confidence and grace.
Here is where I believe direction matters. In the Rider-Waite deck, facing right, the Page holds the pentacle high, looking toward the future. Both cards essentially accomplish the same idea, but seem to present the process differently. And the Page could still be reflecting on past accomplishment as he looks toward a successful future.
In the last position, the Ace of Rods shows a hand emerging from the clouds with the gift of creative passion and clarity. It’s the passing of the wand, so to speak, as the student is ready for new experiences. Answers are given, clarity is revealed, promising forward momentum as the student is ready to manifest intention or will into new possibilities.
Aces contain the energy of the entire suit and indicate new beginnings. A suit of Elemental Fire, the Ace of Rods indicates a new phase of life is unfolding, a result of diligent study. That dedication to the process will serve him well as he explores new directions and projects. From it’s position in the spread, the Ace of Rods appears as if the gift is offered in the background, while the student’s mind is focused elsewhere. But it’s not a distracted focus our student feels, but one of appreciation and eagerness.
His journey awaits. He is ready.
Blessings to all!
