Full Moon Runecasting: Embracing the Truth of Self
In today’s full moon runecasting I drew Eihwaz, Berkano, and Laguz, three runes that represent all Elements. Eihwaz embodies both Air and Fire as the rune of paradox and the connection between opposites. It’s our link between the nonphysical and physical realms and our magick is transformed by Eihwaz. It’s a wonderful rune to include when riding the hedge or shamanic journeying. The journeying bindrune at the top of the divination altar incorporates Eihwaz along with Sowilo and Ehwaz.
Berkano, an Earth rune, brings both healing and fertility influences to the divination. With Berkano, energy is brought to fruition, invoking Earth energies to bring something into being. It’s calming influence protects and ensures security and represents motherhood and femininity.
Finally, Laguz, a rune of Elemental Water, instructs us to go with the flow, letting our intuition guide us. As the rune of the Occult, Laguz allows us to gather energies to be expressed in magick. It’s power lies in its expression of balance as it controls lunar tide energies which can both create and destroy. Laguz is among the runes associated with witches and drawing it on the Full Moon brings additional energies to bear.
The runes fall into the second and third Aetts concerning psychological principles and universal laws. We focus into physical form as nonphysical aspects of Source Energy. That never changes. What matters in the broader scheme of things is how we see our existence in form. Are we the form we take, or are are still Source Energy? Runes and Tarot typically are interpreted from the standpoint of physical form. I prefer to look at the interpretation from the standpoint of Source Presence.
The only true expression of duality we experience is that of physical versus nonphysical aspects of Self. Anything else is just us manifesting that notion into other judgmental expressions (good/bad, light/dark, us/them, new/old). In truth, everything just is.
Eihwaz, from the second Aett, then teaches us to blend our dual nature, learning to either move around the obstacles we encounter or to use them to our advantage. But the main idea is to keep the connection with our nonphysical aspect of Self alive in our awareness so that we make real that which supports this truth.
Berkano and Laguz are both from the third Aett and emerge from the basic reality that we’re extensions of Source Energy. We create our reality with the energies of Berkano, full of life, love, and Goddess presence. Laguz teaches us to let our inner voice guide our path for its awareness comes from our own Source Presence. Irrespective of what the world around us looks like, we create our reality, and learning how to move around in a more observational mode makes more sense than reacting to everything we see. We retain the control of Self as opposed to reacting in egoic judgment, resulting in a happier existence.
The numerology of the runecasting is 13, 18, and 21. Since none are Master numbers, although I was born on the 13th and it comes up all the time for me and sure feels like a Master number, I’ll go ahead and add them up and see what I get. Added together I arrive at 52 which then reduces to 7, the number of magick! Well that’s cool! Nothing’s better than a 7 on a Full Moon! Seven also means perfection and the eternal, so it’s a little more involved than simply magick, but it’s relevant nonetheless.
We’re stronger than we realize. As Source Energy, we have the power to create any reality we choose. So do we continue down the path of conflict, or do we stand apart, viewing everyone and everything with Source Vision? It requires a whole bunch of Laguz energy as we learn to go with the flow, and not stop every five seconds to judge something or someone.
We’re here to expand our experience and awareness without losing sight of who we are. It’s just that most of us don’t realize who that is. We’re taught as children that God exists outside of us, and that we’re to acquire spiritual attributes so that we land in heaven when when we die. Except that’s not the case at all. God or Source doesn’t exist outside of us. It IS us. All that happened is that Source or God extended Itself as All That Is resulting in the universe surrounding us and US as well. We have the power to move past anything that’s keeping us from uniting as one family. That disunity is based upon the illusion of separation and it’s what gets us into so much conflict.
The disunity is unnecessary and prevents us from coming together as one. Perhaps this Full Moon will shine the light of oneness upon all of us, energizing us with the truth of our Source Presence.
We are all powerful, and all loving, and we are all one. Let this Full Moon awaken us to that truth.
Blessed Be
