Master numbers in numerology carry additional influence or weight. A pattern emerged right away in today’s tarot reading. The 8 of Stones and the 3 of WandsKnowledge and Virtue result in 11 or illumination, instinct, and our subconscious. The Lovers, the 3 of Stones, and the 2 of Swords result in the same. Two elevens are significant on their own. I can leave them as they are, or I can add them together resulting in 22, the Master Builder representing discipline, manifestation, leadership, and potential. The 3 of Stones in the outcome position is titled Work which reinforces the overall numerology of 22 so I’ll use that.

Stones (Pentacles and Disks in other decks) begin and end the reading with one card each from Wands and Swords present. One card from the Major Arcana appears and the Elements of Earth, Fire, and Air are influencing.

We begin with Knowledge and the 8 of Stones. Haindl paints a stone temple in the background, a small window visible, with seven boulders suspended in mid-air. A bubble represents the eighth stone suggesting possibility. An elephant, possibly a mammoth, appears in the rock face at the bottom left reinforcing instinctual knowledge. The missing eighth stone suggests that we pay close attention to detail so that our resulting foundation is strong. Haindl includes hexagrams from the IChing on the numbered cards from the Minor Arcana. Hexagram 62 titled, Preponderance of the Small, reinforces our attention to detail.

The Lovers appears next illustrating a man and a woman as they pledge their commitment to each other. The Goddess has taken a consort. Both nude, they come together in transparent love and joy, their union depicted by a downward facing spear as it enters a golden chalice. A rose containing a Merkaba appears above the man’s head while an inquisitive unicorn appears above the woman, her flowing hair rock-like suggesting her ancient countenance. They stand between two trees, the Tree of Knowledge and the Tree of Life. A card of Gemini, although I draw this differently, a rune depicting Kenaz or Torch, appears at the top right suggesting passion and transformational creative energy.

Virtue is the title of the 3 of Wands. Three flame-tipped spears appear in front of a stone structure. A window behind opens to new experiences. Synthesis and expansion along with the traditional values of compassion and cooperation are the 3 of Wand‘s influences. The Cauldron is the title of the hexagram which reinforces the importance of traditional values which “enrich the present and the future”¹ Other decks illustrate the 3 of Wands as an individual waiting for his ship to come in. Haindl’s version appears less about waiting for a life yet to come and more about the virtues of solid preparation based on shared values and tradition, certainly a more proactive influence than standing around waiting for something to happen.

Shared values foster a sense of union with others. We were never meant to go it alone. The numerology of the initial three cards is 8 or structure and strength which also reinforces our need for community reflecting a focus on the greater good over one that is more single-minded.

In the position of hidden influence is the 2 of Swords. Two swords point downward in front of a wintry scene suggesting calm and Peace. A grove of trees stands in the distance behind a stone temple. The two swords project a balanced force, yet the blood-tinged moon above suggests that it’s an uneasy peace that’s been struck. But there’s a sense as well that the conflict is now past, left in the distance and now we’re embracing new thinking reflecting equanimity with others. The hexagram Peace reinforces the meaning of the 2 of Swords as adaptability is preferred over conflict.

Three boulders are positioned at the bottom of the 3 of Stones in a triangular pattern suggesting material structure. In the outcome position, the card is clearly telling us that progress takes unified work. A cross of sorts appears in the background, the vertical axis representing the strength of Spirit while the horizontal axis representing form appears less clear. Nothing appears certain when in form compared to the strength and clarity of Spirit. Fellowship of Man is the title of the hexagram which appears on the card counseling that universal ideas and values in an ordered framework…inspires humanistic cooperation.²

In other words, we go forward together if we want to truly accomplish anything, a concept that seems to escape the so-called new guy. He apparently believes that countries can be effectively run as he would his businesses, forgetting that it’s people who live in those countries. He’s more interested in his ratings which are in the crapper by the way than he is on the needs of the American people.

He speaks without considering the effect of his words. And now that we have dead children in Syria, killed from a chemical attack, and the little guy from North Korea test-firing a missile, we have to trust this appallingly ignorant man to respond appropriately to provocative acts which seem to be taunting a man who has so little impulse control that he takes to social media to lob unlimited accusations and threats against anyone who disagrees or disparages him.

He would do well to heed the counsel of the 8 of Stones and learn something about attention to detail. Without that, he speaks without knowing anything, something his advisors appear content to let him do. They’re apparently so hell-bent on stripping our government down to the barest of bones that they can’t see what any of that will do to people. Again, countries are filled with people and this kind of destruction will leave everyone reeling. But his focus is on his own perception of greatness instead of on the greater good and it’s doubtful he can reconcile this conflict within any time soon.

He views himself as the Master Builder, yet he lacks the self-discipline necessary to actually lead this country into a better tomorrow, leaving that work in the hands of his son-in-law, a thirty-six-year-old real estate heir while the Feds investigate his involvement with Russia. He touts the need to make our country great again yet doesn’t possess the fundamental values a sitting president should share with the rest of the country.

Of course, people who live in countries do something else with their time. They vote. The Fellowship of Man aligns well with our sense of tradition and is the perfect ending of today’s Haindl tarot reading because it’s a reminder that it’s in fellowship and unity that we do our greatest work. We all know this to be true because we couldn’t have achieved what we have without it.

Apparently, the orange guy has yet to get the memo.

Blessed Be
