Change From Within ~ Tarot for 8 May 2018

Change from within appears to be the overall message of today’s tarot cards. The Princess of Cups serenely begins today’s tarot reading, her eyes closed as she stands next to a body of water holding a golden chalice. Her reddish brown robe swirls around her as autumn’s leaves begin to turn. Her honey-colored hair is long and flowing like her robe and she wears an upward turned crescent moon tied around her head. The Princess is imaginative and inspirational, gracious and dreamy. She is the empath whose intuition flows freely. When this card appears it may signal the birth of a child or potential or projects yet undeveloped. The Princess, the Page in other decks, also suggest a message may be delivered.

Oh, I love The High Priestess card in the DruidCraft Tarot deck. She is primal, native, as she raises her arms in supplication to the crescent Moon hanging above in the night sky. She stands between two naturally forming rock pillars, her cape moved by an unseen wind while her grimoire lies on a rock table before her. The Great Sword of the Magus adorns the upper part of her dress with a serpent in elemental balance coiled around its hilt and blade in lemniscate fashion. She is the Feminine Divine manifested into form. With eyes closed, The High Priestess aligns with secret knowledge, her intuition strong and inspiring. She goes within to achieve balance and alignment and represents the gateway to the unconscious realm. With her inner wisdom, she offers wise counsel with compassion and grace.

The 3 of Wands illustrates a man looking off into the distance, three young saplings on the left next to him while his hand rests on the mother tree to his right. A long path winds in the distance below him. The man appears to be waiting for something or someone to come down the path or perhaps he’s thinking about the future. As he waits, growth springs all around him. Wholeness and unity are among the meaning behind three, a synthesis of sorts with will factored in given the suit of Wands and the influence of Elemental Fire. So what it may be telling us is that we possess the will to create our future.

With the presence of The High Priestess, a soul or Higher Self influence is occurring. Combined with the Princess, there may be a message from our Higher Self that we need to pay attention to. Perhaps we’re waiting for something to happen. We’ve planted the seeds and now we await the outcome. The overall numerology of the reading is five or change and fulfillment and I think the 3 of Wands reinforces that. But rather than change from without, I believe this is a change from within that we’ll be experiencing. So, listen to that little voice inside and pay close attention to the message it gives.

Lastly, although she passed through the veil twenty-two years ago, today would have been my mother’s eighty-eighth birthday. Happy birthday, Mom…I miss you every day.
