Geomancy for November 2018
November is here and it’s time again for our monthly geomancy reading. I set up a geomancy chart in Solar Fire last month to determine where the Sun was at 8 am on the first of the month. And at that time, the Sun was in Scorpio and in the 12th House of sorrow, fear, secret enemies, and unseen danger. But then we’re having an election in a few days and we’ll still feel the 12 House influence on that day. You’ll note that only the Sun, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, and both Nodes of the Moon are utilized in this older divination method.
I’m going to break the shield chart down into four sections for each week with the lower three geomantic symbols suggesting the overall influences and outcome. I chose a spirit influence from the first symbol cast, in this case, Puer and Bartzabel, a spirit influence representing Mars, passion, competition, war, destruction, and male sexuality. Both Puer in position one and Rubeus in position four each have Bartzabel as their planetary spirit as does Cauda Draconis so I felt comfortable choosing it as the guiding spirit for the reading. Each planetary spirit is governed by an intelligence as well, with Graphiel as the guiding force behind Bartzabel. I’ve also included Bartzabel’s sigil as the overall guiding spirit at the bottom of the shield as well as under each geomantic symbol it governs.
Week one contains Puer and Populus with an outcome of Puer, so it appears that during the first week of November we’ll be expressing some passionate and unrestrained energy that aligns with a larger crowd of people. Perfect for election week. Particularly with Scorpio’s influence, secrets and lies will be an issue as we’re already seeing unfold. Populus is a passive influence yet it draws like-minded people together nevertheless and we’ll feel the influence of the group this week.
Week two has influences of Cauda Draconis, Rubeus, and Amissio, each one difficult in nature. Cauda Draconis is thought to be an evil symbol, however, it can also be viewed as the end of a situation and letting go of what no longer serves. Rubeus is also thought to be evil in nature and given its relationship to Scorpio, week two may be filled with some fiery passion and temper. So, either the election worked out for those in power, or maybe it didn’t. We’ll have to see how this one plays out because Amissio is indicating a loss of some kind but one that could result from dishonor and deceit.
Amissio brings some additional loss in week three reinforced by Tristitia although some short-term happiness is evidenced by Puella. Balance is required here, but emotions surrounding a loss may overshadow that alignment this week. So either evil is having to take a backseat to a more positive outcome, or it’s the other way around. But I have to wonder if it’s the former given the evil associated with Tristitia. If those in power lose that power this month, or the balance is so affected that it brings things back to a more positive focus, they won’t go quietly.
The fourth week brings some wisdom with Albus followed by Laetitia representing joy. Amissio is also influencing so we may still see some conflict or upset as things begin to settle out. If there are any elections initially not decided, we may see that resolve this week. But it’s going to take positive communication and with Albus present, we have the chance of that happening. Wiser minds may begin to prevail this week.
The Right Witness in the lower section represents the past and the possibility of new beginnings and change for the better. Puella as the Left Witness representing the future seeks to unite with others. The outcome position is occupied by Fortuna Minor suggesting a successful outcome but one that may not be as stable as we like. So perhaps, the Democrats will take back the House but possibly not the Senate, although if they took back both, it could account for all the subterfuge present during the month.
What’s clear is that one side really won’t like the outcome of the midterm elections.
Buckle up. We may be in for a bumpy ride.
Blessed Be
