It’s Called Paradise, You Moron

I’ve never been to Paradise, California but I spent a week a couple of years ago at Clear Lake. Northern California is a beautiful place, even with drought conditions. Driving through the area that we visit is something my husband and I like to do when we vacation somewhere. And California, no matter where you are, is such a diverse and beautiful state.

We’re beekeepers and we look for hives everywhere we go and during our trip to Clear Lake, we saw plenty. The area was beautiful, people were nice and it was a nice vacation. I have no idea if it looks the same now or if the fires over the last couple of years have left its devastating effect.

And then I read this morning that the current occupant of the White House visited Chico, California yesterday and referred at some point during his useless visit to Paradise as Pleasure. Twice. And then he went on to apparently say that Finland rakes their forests and if Californians had done that, the fires wouldn’t have happened. Or something like that. Now, instead of Make America Great Again (which is insulting enough), the new meme is Rake America Great Again.

The man is a complete idiot. I don’t know what else to say here. He’s a complete idiot. People burned alive in their cars trying to escape. Over one thousand people are missing, but he can’t seem to get the name of a town right that was completely lost. That means people, you dipshit. Not just buildings. People. Gone. Dead. Burned alive.

What a fucking asshole this guy is.

He can’t summon even a smidgen of empathy for anyone affected. It’s beyond him. I suppose it would be one thing if he were actually a good president but he’s not so his glaring lack of empathy is pronounced. He speaks and nothing but bullshit comes out. He has no facts from which he forms opinions, only what he believes informs him, so you never know what kind of garbage this man will come out with next. The only thing we know is that it’s assured that he will.

He wants “great climate” and “great forests” and promises we’ll have the greatest this and the greatest that. But clearly, this guy is no different than a traveling salesman who promises the moon and delivers horse shit.

He’s a brand, created out of whole cloth. Nothing more, nothing less. And he does everything he can to keep that brand viable. There’s no substance below the surface. He’s a walking advertisement for the worst players in business yet during and since the campaign, he’s managed to lie well enough to “supporters” that many still back his delusions, actually believing that they’re better off now that he’s in the White House.

At some point, the delusion will end. But what then? How do we come back together after all of this? I mean, most of us will be heaving a sigh of relief to have ANYONE who can form a coherent sentence in the job, but that’s only due to the fatigue we’re all experiencing due to this chaotic cretin.

We need people in government who actually want to do the job of government. The shit show we’re now watching has gone on long enough. He doesn’t want to hear the “struggling” audiotape of Jamal Khashoggi’s dismemberment and murder by people with whom he wants to continue doing business. Too fucking bad. It should be piped in throughout the White House on a loop so he can hear it again and again.

He should never forget the sound of that man dying. Just like he should never forget the sight of the burned out cars with bodies inside.

Of course, that’s assuming he even looked.
