Lunar Transits for 22 – 24 December 2018

In Cancer and the 6th House…

The Moon begins its passage through Cancer while still in her Maiden phase at 8:28 AM on 22 December 2018, followed by the Mother phase at 9:49 AM as we continue to feel somewhat emotionally unsettled. 6th House influences foster a preoccupation with health issues of a holistic nature, i.e. mind/body/Spirit, contributing to our increased need for nurturing by self and others. A continued focus on self-care and nurturing during this time is recommended. The chart is below:

Connections…

Strong influences from both the Sun (opposite) and Venus (sesquisquare) contribute to unsettling feelings during this lunar period. We may lack objectivity when interacting with others, becoming upset or taking offense at something we’ll later view as a non-issue. Again, self-care in all forms is recommended and can be extremely beneficial in maintaining an emotional balance.

Empathic awareness is elevated during this lunar period with the Moon sextile Uranus, however, also in square with Chiron, we should make every attempt to discern the true owner of the emotions we may be experiencing. If it’s not our own emotional resonance, let it pass right on by.

• Modes – Cardinal energies are the strongest influence. Rise to the challenge but avoid a rigid focus.
• Elements – Water dominates elemental influences while Air is non-existent suggesting that intellect and reason are taking a back seat to emotions during this time. Guard against indecision and overreaction and practice compassion and care towards others.
• Rays – Ray 3 – Active Intelligence – intelligence inherent in all, communication, reason, abstract thinking. Ray 7 – Ceremonial Order and Magic – humanitarianism and a focus on rules influence.

Magickal Workings…

Magickal workings during this time include manifesting intentions set during the New Moon, and those rituals and workings that invoke blessing and healing, particularly involving family members. Love and inner balance rituals are especially favored during this Cancerian Full Moon. If taking advantage of the movement from one phase to the next, rituals of passage can be performed with a Maiden/Mother/Crone focus, as well as magicks reflecting a progressive intention. The witch could begin a ritual or working, for example, just prior to the Moon becoming full at 9:49 AM on the 22nd, move into its primary focus at 9:49, and complete the intention in the Crone phase shortly after that time. A structure such as this could be utilized for any number of magickal workings. The 8th Mansion of the Moon also reinforces workings of love and fellowship and also rids an area of mice. Just saying.

So take some time for yourself over the next lunar period. Acknowledge any uncomfortable feelings and allow their healing. If feeling reactionary, stay as neutral as possible to avoid any overreactions you may later regret. Above all, nurture yourself and draw down Goddess energies as our lovely Moon becomes full.
