Lunar Transits for 18-20 January 2019

The Moon transits into emotional Cancer and the 10th House of profession, honor, and mothers at 7:45 PM PST today, 18 January 2019 until Void of Course begins at 5:49 PM PST on the 20th. Our desire for quiet time at home may be at odds with a career issue or focus. The government shutdown could be a factor in this lunar transit as people continue to cope with no paychecks. Otherwise, if career comes into play, and emotions are unsettled, allow time for self-care. The chart is below:

With both Chiron and Lilith exercising a strong influence over the Moon during this period, our emotions are in flux. Feelings may be triggered during this time with the Moon in square with Chiron. In sesquisquare with Lilith, primal energies are influencing that may reinforce any emotional triggers we might experience. The Moon quincunx the Sun also adds to the difficulty. Flexibility remains important during this period. Trine the Goddess energies of Pallas and Vesta, nurturing of self and others are favored during this period.

Magickal Workings

If working magick during this time, the witch will no doubt take advantage of the upcoming Super Full Moon on Sunday evening as well as the total Lunar Eclipse that’s also occurring. If that’s not enough, Jupiter, Mars, Saturn, Venus, and Mercury are in alignment. So things are hopping! Magickally, that is. I’ve mentioned before that I like to observe a transitional Full Moon, invoking Maiden, Mother, and Crone energies over the three day period surrounding the Full Moon, so I’ll be doing something tomorrow, Sunday, and Monday. The same can be worked just before the Moon goes full at 9:16 PM PST on Sunday. The witch could begin the ritual at 9:10 and finish at 9:20, for example, utilizing the Goddess triplicity as support. The 8th Mansion of the Moon, Annathra, is active during this period and supports magickal workings involving love and friendship.

With Lilith influencing, this may be a time to challenge emotions that no longer reflect the present moment. She’s explosive and primal and Lilith takes no prisoners, refusing to suffer fools gladly. If we find ourselves upset at situations long since past over the next couple of days, take time to explore those feelings and take control. You know what’s relevant and what should be released.
