Lunar Transits for 26-28 January 2019

The Moon moves into emotional and secretive Scorpio and the 1st House of self image at 11:31 PM PST today, 26 January 2019, remaining there until Void-of-Course begins on the 28th at 2:38 PM PST. Scorpios seek stimulation, even from drama for drama’s sake. As you’ll glean from the aspects listed below, beware of drama, causing it, or otherwise participating in it. The chart is below:

Aspects

Difficult aspects dominate today as tensions may run high. The Moon opposite Uranus suggests that we should strike a better balance between our intellect and emotions. If conflict or drama arises, take a step back instead of viewing it as an opportunity to play with someone else’s emotions. Inconjunct (quincunx) Chiron, emotional wounds may arise during this lunar period and we may have difficulty letting go of past issues reinforced by the Moon’s square with the North Node. Allow Goddess energies to inform your choices during this time to stay focused. The Moon trine Vesta suggests taking time for self-care should emotions go awry, while the Moon conjunct Pallas Athena reinforces strategic thinking and planning.

• Mode ~ Cardinal (initiating action) and Fixed (stable progress) energies dominate during this lunar period while Mutable (changeable) energies are in a weakened state. Guard against inflexibility.
• Elements ~ Air, Fire, and Water (intellect, will, and emotions) are in balance. Elemental Earth is in a weakened state and we may have trouble coping with the more mundane aspects of life during this lunar period.
• Rays ~ The 5th Ray of Concrete Science dominates suggesting a strong, albeit inventive, focus.

Magickal Workings

I’ve added another column to the chart that gives the planetary hours for use in a planetary hours table when working magick. For this period, the table applies to January 27th. The savvy witch will notice that much of the astrological chart that I’m using provides him or her with all sorts of information that can be helpful when planning a magickal working. As an example, if the focus of a particular working involved standing in one’s power, the witch may want to use correspondences that align elemental energies in balance which during this lunar period may involve strengthing grounding given Earth’s weakened influence.

Love magicks, as long as the focus takes into account the waning aspect of the Moon, can be worked during Alichil, the 17th Mansion of the Moon, but avoid such workings on the following day while Alchab is active as revenge, conspiracy, and discord are favored. The energetic influence of Scorpio can work for or against the outcome, so plan accordingly.

With this intense Scorpio energy, I’m always tempted to hide out and seek shelter from whatever drama may erupt. But if interaction with others cannot be avoided, remember to stay in present moment awareness to avoid any past issues fostering any drama that may arise.
