Lunar Transits for 31 January – 3 February 2019

The Moon travels into Capricorn and the 5th House of love and pleasure at 4:48 PM PST on the 31st of January 2019, remaining there until Void of Course begins on 2 February at 2:52 AM PST. During this time we may feel torn between the more mundane aspects of life and spending time with friends and family. Other than a semisquare with Mercury that suggests we might want to avoid impulsive comments, and a square Chiron signifying old wounds potentially in play, aspects favor socializing with partners and friends over the next lunar period and embracing new experiences. The Moon trine the Midheaven suggests an intuitive approach to life and career while in trine with Uranus, a sense of individuality dominates, particularly involving a more unconventional approach.

Magickal Workings

Both the 22nd and 23rd Mansions of the Moon are useful for healing workings, particularly the 22nd, Caadaldeba, while Caadebolach adds divorce to the mix. So, magickal workings given the Moon’s waning aspect combined with the energies of the approaching New Moon could, for example, involve divination over partnership issues. With the new opportunities found in the current lunar transits, a new direction can be found that supports a positive outcome. There’s also a feeling of both endings and beginnings here, so either an end to conflict perhaps allowing for love to return, or it’s possible that a new direction is needed resulting in the end of a relationship. Perhaps the best way for both parties to heal is to do so as individuals. Either way, the next few days are excellent for magickal workings of all kinds.

I’ve always found that if I take care of the more mundane tasks of life first, I’m better able to fully enjoy whatever playtime I have. So, I suppose we should allow Capricorn’s influence to keep us responsible, but when the tasks are completed, enjoy some much needed down time with friends and family.
